Programs - NO sound!
Hello, All! I've purchased TR61 for gigs, it's a beautiful little instrument, I like it very much. But there is a problem: I have downloaded many PCG's, they work perfectly, but several patches don't sound, when I load them into TR61. Just for example, I have a bank called TRANCEME.PCG, load it, and it loads OK, but when I play on keyboard Program 000, it doesn't sound at all, just silence, Program 001 sounds OK, 002 sounds OK, 003 - silence, etc. Maybe these banks are not for LE/TR, but for Triton Extreme, for example? What I need to do to make these PCG working normally? To edit some parameters, something else? Thanx a lot, best regards, Alexx.

Not all PCG's are equal...
PCG's made to work with an EXB expansion board (additional multisamples) reference that EXB board and its content in order to produce the sound. Using the combis without the samples will give spotty results if not silence (as you have experienced).
No board, no sound.
In addition some of the PCG's posted here reference user samples that have to be loaded in order to make a sound.
No samples downloaded, no sound.
Likewise, some PCG's are for boards like the Triton Extreme -- they have the same extension (.PCG) but the referenced content is nowhere to be found on the LE/TR - again no sound.
-- so ------
Look for PCG's posted to LE/TR site only.
----- or -------
Check the osc assignment of non functioning combis to see what they're trying to reference.

The strange thing is that most PCGs in the Triton LE download section are NOT saved by the Triton LE possibly.
The Product ID of a Korg LE is different than for most other tritons and different. However it seems it still can read those, except that some tritons have different waveform sets which of course will not load or not be audible in the LE.

Developer of the free PCG file managing application for most Korg workstations: PCG Tools, see https://www.kronoshaven.com/pcgtools/
I believe the only expansion board for the TR series is the sampling option. If you have that board installed, it's most likely the missing sounds must be loaded via SD card everytime you turn the TR on.

The LE and TR can still import sounds from general Triton Series PCGs.michelkeijzers wrote:The strange thing is that most PCGs in the Triton LE download section are NOT saved by the Triton LE possibly.

It can even load KMP+KSF sample data without the Sampling Expansion board - as long as you have RAM installed (comes with none as standard). The Sampling EXB is only for actually sampling and making your own keymaps - you can do that with software on your PC too such as Awave studio, without the EXB-SMPL.
The LE and TR will go through a conversion process and ask you which IFX slot to keep, or something like that. So sounds won't necessarily translate 'okay' all of the time, but the overall program sounds will be fine.
The expansion ROM in the TR and X50 and microX appears much in the same way that an EXB does in other Tritons - you select it next to the waveform selection, as a 'bank', but in this case you only have 'ROM' and 'EX'.
So the problem with not hearing anything will mainly come from where EXB samples are used - EXB boards are not available on the TR/LE and there is no conversion process to find alternative ROM or EX samples.
And the 2nd problem when not hearing anything is when user samples are involved - aside from this process being fairly complicated on Tritons and the user having to realise that they actually have to load the KMP or KSC file first and every time they want to use it - there is no RAM installed by default so you can't load user samples anyway until you go out and buy some. Or have a 2nd hand one with the RAM already installed - like mine that I sold last year
