New Piano Sounds (Title edited see post Page 2 toward end)

Well I checked my Ram and it said:
Ram Bank 1 has 93 secs mono sampling time. (8989334 bytes)
Ram Bank 2 has 0 seconds.
It also says in Sampling Info I have:
Samples - 365
Drums - 382
Multi Samples - 0
So this means I have no "extra Ram" but can load 93 secs worth of Samples in the "internal" ram?
Right?
So I can only load maybe the Euro Pianos (2.5 meg) and that's it?????
Correct?????

Just pretend I've written something funny, yet wise and ironic here...

Looks to me that you have 1 x 16mb in your board with some of it being used - perhaps the Real Drums set is loaded. If you clear your Ram I think you could load set 3.
Best,
John

Hi Reuben and Alex,
So you guys created the piano sounds for Steinway and etc...? I have two questions"
1) I would need more than 16Mb ram in order to use those sounds?
2) Do you guys know anybody who can make or where I can find sounds such as Chinese/Vietnamese zithers (the 16-string instrument, the one-string zither and the one string Vietnamese zither)? Asian music uses alot of these musics but I don't have it on Korg so I don't know how I could get it. If you guys could show me how or know where I can get it for Korg, that would be superb.
Many thanks,
Ethan

Ethan,
You could load any of sets 1, 2 or 3 with your 16mb - I recommend you go for set 3. This wont leave a lot of memory for futher sounds but until you track down the other sounds you want, it wont matter.
Best,
John
(PS: You can actually have set 3 plus Korgs set loaded and it uses no more memory because set 3 and Korg share the same PCM data - but its a bit trickier loading both because with the second set you load you will need to direct it to load to a different location (say User 2). This is done by selecting the second set and choosing Open, Sound, Open, User 1, Load, THEN CHANGE to User 2 as the load location. After all this save your new set under a new name).

Re: 4 NEW PIANO SOUND SETS Available here now
Hi JohnReuben wrote:I have 4 new Piano Sound Sets available for all those interested in pianos.
The sets range in size from Zero Ram right up to 27mb depending on how much Ram you have available or if you want quick loading times.
All sets have a new modified EURO PIANO which is probably the best piano on the expansion board but (surprisingly) doesn't use expansion board sounds but a nice remix of the Factory Grand. I have modified it further with a bit more expression using 12 ocillators and a new amp envelope.
Here are the sets:
1) Euro Piano (Zero Ram)
6 pianos - has 4 versions of the Euro Pianos plus new versions of the Grand and Classic
http://rapidshare.com/files/62164695/Eu ... T.rar.html
2) Euro Pianos RX (only 2.5mb)
This is a must-have set if you want interesting pianos but quick loading times!
Has 8 Pianos including RX versions (Pedal Resonance and Key Release Noises) of Euro and Classic
The RX sounds were stripped from the Korg RX Piano.
http://rapidshare.com/files/62164431/Eu ... T.rar.html
3) Grand Touch & Euros RX (15mb)
Has more expressive versions of Korg Grand Touch and RX effects on these and on the Euro Pianos - 16 pianos in all
http://rapidshare.com/files/62163940/Gr ... T.rar.html
4) Steinway & Grand Touch & Euros RX (27mb)
This is the big one - all the above plus Alex's really nice Steinway piano
24 pianos in all.

Once you select your link go to the free download option and type in the code supplied by the site to start your download.
Files are compressed in WinRar format and need to be extracted. Then copy the extracted .set folder to your harddrive. (WinRar is available as a free download if you don't have it.)
The sounds will load to User 1 Sounds (they won't change any Styles or Global settings).
Backup you current set or do a full resource backup before loading your new .set file.
Enjoy,
John
I've tried to download it but they are not available anymore...
I've just bought a PA1xpro and I would like really to try your samples, also because as many of us I don't like piano sounds on PA1x
Is there any way to obtain it??
Many thanks and ciao from Italy
Gabriele

Here's a new link to my Piano Set. (October 2011)
Its actually been changed from the 2007 version and is better in my opinion.
https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid= ... z&hl=en_US
ONCE YOU SELECT THE LINK GO TO: File, Download Original.
The Set only includes the 3 Folders necessary for this to work (MULTISMP, PCM and SOUND) so you don't have to worry about your Global settings Pads etc. - these will remain unchanged.
If you load the whole set (15mb Ram) you will get a few pages of some of my favourite sounds as well (some are modified from the originals but none of them use any extra Ram or affect the Factory Sounds as they are in User Banks 1 & 2 only. (There's a nice Guitar on Page 8 called Stl Slide Pro 2 Chorus)
My favourite Piano is the Classic Piano RX4 which has a nice long decay, nice pedal down effects and has no phasing problems like some of the Factory Pianos. Its a modified version of the inbuilt piano with more expression (6 levels) and makes use of the pedal down resonance effects offered by Korg in their Grand Touch Piano.
The Live Grand Touch Piano is not bad either. It makes full (modified ) use of the 15mb piano offered by Korg with the release of OS3.0. and doesn't use any of the factory inbuilt sounds.
Two of the Pianos on Page 2 of User1 are Expansion Board Pianos so will only work if you have the EXB1 Piano Expansion - but these aren't my favorite pianos anyway. (You can still load the whole set - it wont hurt your keyboard - these 2 just wont work so you can use these User Slots for something else later).
If you choose to load individual Pianos rather than the whole set, I would recommend the first 16 (pages 1 & 2 of User1 minus the 2 EXB1 Pianos).
You can Load Individual Sound by choosing OPEN, OPEN.. until you drill down to the Name of the Piano - then load and choose where you want to put it (eg User1 slot 01.)
Back Up your existing set just to make sure (Disk, Save, All (tick everything). Now unzip the file above- copy it to your Harddrive on your keyboard and load the set. Make sure you are running OS3.01 on your Pa1x.
Hope you like.

Its easy - just copy a text file to your Keyboards Hardrive (dont use Word to create it just use Txt Document (Right Click your computers desktop and choose New, Text Document).
Now go to Your Songbook entry, Book Edit 2 Tab, You will see Linked *.TXT, Choose Browse, find your text file and Write.
Now you should also Assign Txt Page Down to one of your Assignable Switches so you can scroll down the Text as you play (it wont be automatic unless you karaoke a midi file).
Best,
John
