VIDEO - Fabio Ribeiro (REMOVE SILENCE) presents KORG KRONOS

Post by Phabius »

Hello folks!

This is a very informal video made for PrideMusic (KORG Distributor in Brazil), with my first impressions on the Kronos and a brief history of my relationship with Korg:

I liked the vocoder part, guess I have to try it too (it's just I don't have a microphone in this house).

Yeah, I am curious about the vocoder as well, expecially compared to the one in my Motif XS8 :)

I noticed the stand being used was a 'STAY', so looked them up. Interesting stands from Brazil :)

GREAT stuff Fabio! Loved the vocoder bit and REALLY loved the composition.

On a humorous note, the Google Translator needs a lot of work. I speak Italian and Spanish but my Portuguese is somewhat limited. The page is in Portuguese so Google Chrome "translated it for me. Fabio, you look great for your age especially considering the following translation:

"The band's keyboardist Fabio Ribeiro Remove Silence, talks about his partnership with PRIDE MUSIC, check the latest release of the Korg, the Korg workstation KRONOS and talks about the beginning of their relationship with the KORG 90 years."

90 years man!!! WOW!!!!!!!

But truly, GREAT video man!! Obrigado!

Ahimsa,
Vlad

lol

Thanks!

Actually they've missed a word in tne text. It should say "nos anos 90" (in the nineties), hehehe...

Sorry for the poor audio quality, but it was intended to be an informal thing with the impressions only, but the music part was added as well as a final touch :)

The composition is an excerpt of a new song (which will have vocals) for our upcoming album. I'm glad you like it!

I'm planning to make some small videos with audio clips (some factory and custom sounds, a little tweaking, tips, etc., like a small demo), recorded properly through a Joemeek stereo preamp. The Brazilian distributor will post it as well, as we have very little info in portuguese about the instrument (and even less on video). The clips will have english subtitles.

As for the vocoder, actually it's an Effect in the Kronos. It does it's job very well, but the words don't sound as intelligible as on a dedicated Vocoder like the ones in R3 or MS2000B. With a little tweaking it sounds great though.

The MS-20EX External Signal Processor on the other hand, acts exactly as on the original and is a joy to play with!
