First week with a KRONOS61

Post by britkeys »

Picked up my KRONOS61 from Eastbourne last week. Didn't have time to play over the weekend, so it sat in the box for a couple of days, felt like I was looking at the presents under the tree!
Unboxed Monday, got it set up.
Turned on Tuesday had a play, good times!
Dug into the piano sound yesterday, tweaked German grand to my liking. Have it Midied up to my CP33, which works fine.
Going to have another play now.
First impressions are great.
Wondering about saving my tweaked piano, tried to save yesterday, but no free spaces by the look of it. Is this right? I know ver1.5 is coming (when?), and this offers lots of free banks. Am surprised if there are no free user spaces at all though, weird!!
Anyway going to have another look, and check the help button, maybe I am missing something bleedin obvious! If not, will wait for update, and wallow in sonic ambrosia! (Oh how poetic, I surprised myself lol!!)

Hi britkeys,

User Bank G is available for your own programs, although it has to be set up for storing either HD-1 based programs (i.e. the sampler) or EXi (all other 8 synth engines), you can't mix the two in one bank.

Press the GLOBAL button and tap the BASIC SETUP in the top right corner, then tap SET PROGRAM USER-BANK TYPE. You need to format the bank as EXi to save your SGX-1 Grand Piano, so tap the arrow on the USER-G line and select EXi, then tap OK.

Luckily OS 1.5 will give us the extra banks (whenever it arrives).

You can use PCG Tools to find out which programs are used by which combis/set list slots (and vice versa), to prevent breaking them.
