I think that is a wise move Dan. I might play an event for work in a month or two. Now it seems an ata case is in order...what happened to you could happen to anyone and the Kronos needs to be well protected when it is transpoted. The best with everything. :)

Dan,

1. Tear it apart and make it a keyless tabletop module.
2. Remaining parts make great spare parts.
3. See #1.

No, I didn't make it to the gig. I'm really disappointed, too. I booked this back in July (who knew we'd have a snow storm in October in Southern PA?!?)

As it turned out, the concert became a benefit for flood victims of Hurricane Irene. The church has a praise band that played in my absence. (They were going to be part of the event already.)

Seriously, what these people lost in the hurricane makes a banged up car and keyboard seem like nothing. No "woe is me" attitude here. I spent the afternoon today with family (including my 2 yr old granddaughter!) I'm blessed man, indeed.

Yesterday could have ended much differently. We don't like to talk about it, but we never know when our last breath will be.

I am glad I didn't sell my M3 yet. I can get by with it and my laptop until I get the Kronos replaced.

I actually think a hard case would have caused more damage in this situation. (I've been using double soft cases because a hard case won't fit through the opening of my trunk.)

The impact to the rear corner of the car crushed the end of the keyboard. Had it been in a hard case, that case would have either crushed more of the keyboard or the case itself would have been shoved into my Bose L1 system packed behind it, likely crushing the speaker columns. Either way, the Kronos was not coming out of it unharmed. Since the gig bags gave way and the keyboard absorbed the impact, the damage didn't spread deeper into the trunk of the vehicle.

If only those 4 right keys are lost then you have a Kronos 69 iso Kronos 73. Of course I don't know if there are more problems but not able to use the 4 keys until you can let it repair is maybe not the end of the world.

Can't see the pics, but most importantly glad all is well on the human/life front.

But as for the comments about build-quality and the Jupiter80....WTF???

I'm seriously hoping that this is meant as a joke, otherwise a "dry-slap" is in order followed by a tuning-in to "Sanity FM"......

Case vs new keyboard???? ermmmm let me work this one out

The jp80 stuff was a joke at the common korg forumer usual line of conduct.

See thread
Anything could be said
Somehow jp80 kills kronos
Then claim to love kronos

I am truly sorry about your car abd kronos and am glad youre alright! Please let us know the outcome!
