Buttons not responding.

Post by simonsezzband »

My Triton 61 will start like usual and the screen looks normal. PROBLEM the buttons won't change anything nor will the touch display. This problem came on slowly after I tore it all apart to replace 18 of the tactile momentary switches.
It would start but the buttons wouldn't respond for 10 seconds more- then everything would work fine. It got worse everytime I started it up to 2 hours & now the buttons or touch screen will do anything. It seemed to get dramatically worse after I tried using a midi cable. The midi wouldn't send or receive but I know the cable and settings were correct. Any ideas where to look?
***I tried to do a reset but my 0 button doesn't do anything during start up.

It looks like a connection that has contact sometimes, depending on movement or maybe warming up.

Thank you for your reply. It acts as if something was slowly getting worse though. Not intermittent. I tried restoring the factory settings thinking it may be software, but the buttons don't respond at start up.

Yes the led's light up and the apegiator led flashes several times during start up. It looks normal as it boots up but none of the buttons will do anything. I opened it up again tonight and can't see anything not plugged in or a wire pulled out. Any more ideas appreciated including advice on the best place to get it looked at , if it comes to that.
Thanks

Sounds like you might have a hairline crack in one of your panel boards.

Get a magnifying glass and check all traces on the right and left panel boards.
