Kronos 61 key differences
Aside from fewer keys, what (if any) differences are there between the 61 and 88 key versions?
Thanks,

Re: Kronos 61 key differences
Price, weight, different keybed (weighted), possibly different airflow. As far as I know, no different features/components except for the length of the case/number of keys.Ten2One wrote:Aside from fewer keys, what (if any) differences are there between the 61 and 88 key versions?

I've noticed that after pressing very hard some keys, it is easier to reproduce the cut off notes on that keys.PianoManChuck wrote:I've noticed that it seems to get worse with an increase in temperature.j.asal wrote:Did anyone else notice, that the cutoff problem vanishes in colder environment? That's because rubbers get softer.. maybe.j.asal wrote:Did anyone else notice, that the cutoff problem vanishes in colder environment? It only happens (for me) when the temperature is over 20 degree celsius or something... (i'm not kidding)
I always got suspect that the issue is
due to defective rubber contacts

It only seems to happen on mine with softer piano passages.xtatty wrote:I've noticed that after pressing very hard some keys, it is easier to reproduce the cut off notes on that keys.PianoManChuck wrote:I've noticed that it seems to get worse with an increase in temperature.j.asal wrote:Did anyone else notice, that the cutoff problem vanishes in colder environment? In mine too! It mostly happens when playing soft.PianoManChuck wrote:It only seems to happen on mine with softer piano passages.xtatty wrote:I've noticed that after pressing very hard some keys, it is easier to reproduce the cut off notes on that keys.
What i was trying to say earlier, is that if you bang the keys hard and then try to play soft on the same keys, cut off notes occur more often.

It depends, some say it occurs mostly in lower velocities, but with mine I get the most cut offs at about 80-100 velocity. Do you use a DAW? If so, I'd advise you to record some MIDI and afterwards check for double triggering. See my earlier post with a picture some pages back. Try different velocities and keybed heights. My cut offs occur mostly between C2 and C5, but that's also the area I use most, so I don't know if that means something..Bach42t wrote:I cannot seem to get my Kronos to cutt-off the notes, even as light as I play. Can someone tell me how much velocity I need to apply to get it to work?

Kronos 88 purchase
Well, I went ahead and ordered an 88 key Kronos today! The sound is stunning and it was on sale at a great price. I will pick it up on Tuesday or Thursday. I only have 14 days to return it if the keyboard clicks, or notes cut off, or it produces those dreaded double strikes so I was wondering what the best way to test it would be. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Just try playing with a light touch, you'll probably notice it here and there and once you get the hang of it you can do it pretty much on demand.
The best way I can explain it is when you strike the key, let it bounce back into your finger while keeping the finger kind of limp.
Let us know how it goes.

Ok, this thread is 62 pages - tl;dr. Somebody needs to update the first post of this thread with all of the pertinent information.
I just got a 73 Kronos a few days ago, and didn't know about this thread beforehand. I THINK I have noticed the RH3 issue on mine, but not nearly to the degree as a couple of the earlier videos I saw in this thread. In my case, it may just be a case of polyphony overload, or my foot occasionally slipping off the sustain pedal
Anyway, is this affecting ALL 73/88 key models? Is there a way to tell for sure if my board is affected? And what should we do if we have this problem? Should we exchange it and hope that the replacement works, or just return it and wait for Korg to fix the problem at the factory?

considering by a Kronos88, but RH3?
Hi all
I am considering bying a Kronos88, but I am concerned with the RH3 issue of note cut-off's. Does Korg test (now) the 73's and 88's before shipping, specifically for this issue?
I would like to avoid sending it back and waiting for repair...
Thanks

All we know is that Korg is trying to find a solution to the problem andAdDeRoo wrote:I am considering bying a Kronos88, but I am concerned with the RH3 issue of note cut-off's. Does Korg test (now) the 73's and 88's before shipping, specifically for this issue?

that is trying to come up with something until mid-December.
Nothing more, nothing less!
