Looks like the M3 is what it is. No more upgrades...

I'm sure there can be improvements, but I wouldn't expect any. Korg has moved on to the Kronos.

There always can be upgrades, even for the old X5, however mostly only after some time bug fixes are fixed.

unfortunately, i think that there will be no more updates, neither major nor minor.... it's a pity considering the power of this synth

Yeah Korg moved on Kronos...Only we can do something else for the M3...However, having Radias expansion+EXB, third party sounds and this forum, I don't need anything else. I still enjoy my M3 a LOT. I am using Organimation, also the Dan Stesco Sounds, some from Qui Robinez, and lot of my own sounds, because I program and sample a lot of stuff.

The M3 is the most powerfull Synth I ever play. Maybe Kronos is better, however, which sounds can do kronos that the M3 or My kawai piano can't do? no one. Is not a big deal to move from my M3 to a Kronos, and pay 2000 dollars of difference, for a plastic made keyboard.

Maybe is time to do a new website for the M3, with all the sounds available on this forum and on karmalabs, plus the PCG TOOLS, and all the other resources available for the M3.

I am sure that the KORG M3 was not made perfect, and just like windows which is not a finished product on release date so should KORG release updates to make it better.

well....as there are no virus or trojans for Music Workstations, I don't think that Korg should provide free security updates for the M3, like microsoft do..

Now, seriously, each time some user complain about upgrades...I ask, what are you needing? what you will like to have on the M3, in order to do WHAT?

A larger screen is not a logical answer..

Windows gives updates for security leaks and support for external devices to be connected. The M3 does not suffer from these issues.

Of course bugs should be solved and AFAIK all serious bugs have been solved. What is left is nice to haves. Software is never finished and there is good news and bad news.

Like Windows, if you want to have the latest and greatest there is one available in the next generation synthesizer (Oasys/Kronos), bad news is you have to pay for it.

in my opinion one more update is required.
When you have "memorize" selected in global settings, the M3 must load all the pcg's and samples you had load the last time.

Great idea, however, I rather keeping myself a list of emails of users of PCG Tools.

It is not allowed to upload PCG Tools. Not because I don't want it to be spread or making it difficult, but people cannot update the application if I cannot send them the latest application and users almost never check on a website for the latest version.

However, since I like every initiative like this, I gladly will forward the link the the new M3 site in my app and hope you can do the same to PCG Tools so we can benefit from each other.

A dedicated website with all the various updates and add-ins available would be great!

But as others have said, I think this is probably the end now in terms of updates for the M3 - although it's a current product, I feel Korg are probably investing all their time and resources into the Kronos.

By offering the XPanded update, Korg did give the M3 one more push and greatly improved the primary Piano patch which was a nice gesture for owners, especially as it was offered for free...

But time moves on and no doubt the same will happen to the Kronos in time, a new workstation will be released and the Kronos won't get anymore updates.

I love an idea of dedicated web site for m3. It could offer all available links to updates, sites, sounds, documentation etc. Any volunteers?

The AKAI S6000 has the same RAM amount which is technology from 1998 and now we have 2012? and we still have samplers at 256 and 512 megs?
I guess a lot of companies are playing us as fools that need to have the latest toy even if we really don't need it.
