SV1 RH3 Keybed Fix Thread

Hi,

I noticed the Kronos thread about the double trigger problem with the RH3 keybeds: http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=65292. I have the same problem on my new SV1 88. Notes in the lower region bounce back when played softly, causing the key to trigger twice, resulting in a dead, cutoff note.

I contacted the dealer and Korg will now send a technician to fix the problem (and hopefully replace the whole keybed with the newer version).
Since there is no thread about the fix for the SV1, I thought I'd start one here

2. Which model (73 or 88 )
2. Any information you were told about the specific repair made
3. The results -- did the fix work?

Heard today the parts have arrived in the netherlands. I'll bring my SV1 in soon. The technician who will be doing the repairs was talking about 'modifications' instead of a new keybed, so they will probably only replace the rubber contacts... This seems to be Korgs new policy for faulty keybeds.

Update: Still no repair made... Seems impossible to get an appointment with the technician. He is probably very busy fixing all the other faulty RH3 keyboards, but I'm starting to get really worried (gigs coming up soon).

Also, I read somewhere that the newer models of the SV1 are still being shipped with the same old faulty keybed. For that reason I would strongly advice against buying an SV1. Which is a shame, because it could have been a great keyboard!

Getting a sick feeling in my stomach. My SV-1 is with a technician but going on two months and still no parts.

FINALLY! I have an appointment for the repair for wednesday next week. Two days before a radio gig, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

Visited the music store today, to try out the new limited edition of the SV1 (reverse keys). It looked great, but it had THE SAME PROBLEM! Bouncing, double triggering keys all over. Seems like Korg is hoping people won't notice, so they do not have to repair every single keyboard.
I would have gladly paid the extra money if the new SV1's were outfitted with the new version of the RH3 keyboard (as seems to be the case for the newer Kronos), but now I'm just hoping the repair will work out good for the SV1 I have...

I haven't seen the Reverse key version yet. But, I had a chance to play a black version of the 73 key in GC last week. It felt good and sounded great. Except for the broken keys on my SV the rest of the keybed is terrific.

When playing softly, I get the double triggering on a lot of keys (high and low). If the repair will fix that, it will be the best stage piano ever...

Finally got in contact with the service center repair man. He's had the parts from Korg for a while but has not gotten around to fixing it. Said he would have it repaired by next week. As it turned out Korg did not send an entire keybed but replacement keys for the one's that were broken. I'm perfectly happy with that because the rest of the keybed feels great and plays well.

My SV1 is being repaired this afternoon. I'm picking it up later today and will report if it worked!

May 16 2012 at the shop where I bought it. The importer send their technician and I could pick it up the same day.

2. Which model (73 or 88 )
88 keys

2. Any information you were told about the specific repair made
The rubber contacts under the keys were replaced.

3. The results -- did the fix work?
Yes. No more cutoff note issues, so that's great. The keyboard feels different; action seems a little shorter / stiffer. Takes some getting used to, so I don't know yet if that's an improvement.
