Post by dkhbrit »

I've popped the dance extreme card in a slot and powered up my Triton Pro. Where are the sounds? Any help appreciated

See http://www.korg.com/SupportResults.aspx?productid=76

Then go to download and load the factory PCG file.[/url]

OK, thanks. How do I back up banks C and D before I do this?

I'd recommend backing up all your current programs and combis to a floppy first before loading your new sounds.

The manual explains how to do this.

You also can use PCG Tools (after backup) to easily copy programs/combis from one PCG file to another. See link below for more info.

But as said above: always make a backup first.

And if you don't have the Triton manual... you can download a .PDF copy from Korg's website:

Thanks a lot guys. I'm so happy to finally own one of these things. Can't wait to get the hang of it.

dkhbrit,

The card initially shows as an increase in wave ROM - you find that by looking at the oscillator edit page under programs. After the internal ROM, there will be an EXB wave list with all the new available samples listed out.

None of the waves you've installed with the board are audible until you also load programs that use them, so loading the applicable .pcg files to blank program or combi slots is the next step.

As noted above, you want to make sure you back-up your current set-up before doing this.

A librarian, like PCGTools will let you move things around easily, it will also let you keep what you want or make partial loads of new sounds possible.

One more question

Is there such a thing as a writeable external floppy drive that I can use with my laptop to write files to for transfer to the Triton?

Yes. USB floppy (external) is available at many computer stores for ~$25 US - it's where I bought mine because my macbook has no floppy drive.
