Im calm now....sorry

Post by fabeandles »

Sorry for going off, just frustrated. Ok I am from the US. I told the tech that I created a combo for the first time. It was a piano and string pad. It sounds great but when I play a pattern for more than 15 seconds the piano sounds start chopping. Like its starting to cut out. He said to take it to a repair shop but the closest is 2hrs away. I didn't notice it on other piano sounds so far just the one I created so in my mind I did something wrong.

if you don't have the cutoff notes on the normal A00 piano then it could be something in the combi programming you did. Why don't you post that combi here, then we will take a look at it if we can find the problem.

sounds like just running out of polyphony. How many notes are you playing and are you using sustain pedal?

fabeandles, forget about the rant, let's look for solutions: you should first of all check what Shakil said. Is the pattern recorded, with sustain pedal and then running, or are you talking of manual play of the pattern?

If you don't get cutoff notes with normal piano patches it is not clear at all, if your Kronos needs repair.
Kronos 73 - Moog Voyager RME - Moog LP TE - Behringer Model D - Prophet 6 - Roland Jupiter Xm - Rhodes Stage 73 Mk I - Elektron Analog Rytm MkII - Roland TR-6s - Cubase 12 Pro + Groove Agent 5

I will post the combi when I get home. I know it was a japanese dark grand and the second instrument was a string pad 1 I believe. I am playing a live pattern "manual". I am using a sustain pedal. I'll play a pattern for 10 sec or so with the sustain pedal up and down with every key change. After a while it starts cutting out like I don't have the sustain pedal down.

Would love to learn the deeper sequencing techniques. Watched all the videos on the Korg website. Trying to find videos with deeper teaching, but taking baby steps for now. Putting a piano and pad together was a big deal for me.

When I put the sounds together I pushed the drop down menu and copied the effects.

I'm home, the combi is A007 and the second instrument is C037. I went to timbre parameter made sure both say INT. Then I wen to midi channels and put 01G on both. I went to IFX and copied insert effects.

When you are playing, go to the "perf meters" tab look at the note stealing and polyphony meters.

fabeandles: By sharing your problem, not only do I believe that you will get it fixed, but it will help us all learn what went wrong and be aware of the proper things to do when faced with whatever you're facing.

I'm very hopeful we can get it straightened out with the folks here.

Paying this forum.....

Post by fabeandles »

Has anyone looked at this problem? Hey, just a thought, Korg should be paying everyone on this Forum for fixing their problems. Its genius, they look at all your ideas you all have, make the product, and when something goes wrong they get you all to come up with ideas to fix it.....I think I need to get out of the oilfield and into building keyboards.....

Try to set the timbres you don't need in MIDI Status "OFF", it will increase polyphony enormously.
