Man I've got to start exploring Mod-7. Really nice stuff. And as you say it's SO expressive. Would love to hear it under breath control.

What a honor ... an input for me !!!
I admit that you did an excellent job , but equivalent sounds were made from all of us
at 1990 with DX7 , M1 and similar gear of these days , and later with Triton series.
Moss board made a lot of simulation improvements before 10 years , but ... still
all are far from sample modeling articulation and the original instruments !!!
Also portamento , glide ,monophonic and microtuning can't cover up the
imperfections of a fake sound (no offence !).
Without to mention sounds like pianos ect , that can sound like a joke with FM, just
listen to similar easily created ethnic sounds that I made under sample modeling.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCNsJaobYtU&hd=1
My opinion is that FM synthesis is useful for entirely different perspective.

Hi Anthony,
i strongly agree with you on many points but i still want you to point me out to ANY equivalents Sounds like the ones above
especially for our kind of music. No one claims that with FM i will replace a SAZ or an Acoustic Guitar but my point is to point
out that your claim that FM is for something else is purely wrong and i think i proved it enough. I am not new to this, i our world
i was probably the only one to BRAKE the MOSS at the time, i do this for long time. If you really believe that Sampling can do
better then this i will Demonstrate again that you are wrong and where Samples are left behind Modeling. If MOD-7 or FM or
whatever you call it its called actually THAT it does not mean it cannot do Physical Modeling...maybe not in your knowledge
and not in the right term of Physical Modeling but in my knowledge, experience it can do ANYTHING i want it to actually do.
Especially You, coming from our background of Music know for a fact that such Sounds as THESE NEVER existed before
on any machine by Modeling only EXCEPT: Kottis, Berhan and few other programmers got close with Trinity TriSolo.
On you examples, i know them for long time and i love them, i have to admit them...it would be nice if you tell me with what
MODELING you got the Clarinet...as for the Violin, it is Sampled and i can again prove that to you with the Same Violin and
why it can't be as good as a Modeled Violin...i can explain it by steps...for start...Overlapped Legato on the notes.
Take a listen to your own Violin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFiHisjl1VY
and see how fake the Legato Sounds, overlapping every single note, there is no expression.
Now, these are real HIGH END Violins and you can still hear the fake in Legato: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elx359V9iRI
And yet this is how a real Violin sounds like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoRNjxpp ... re=related
Don't get me wrong, i had to point out things like this because many times i don't agree with your statements same as most
of us heavyweights in here...the problems is very simple...when i started here i was YOU, exactly like YOU...thinking that
no one in here knows anything but me...then i found out that actually there was some real BALLS in here.
Maybe you can preach to certain choir of mortals what FM or Modeled is...but not to few of us.
Lets go on...your quote about portamento and articulations, if you want i will again prove to you step by step that you can
NEVER achieve the Portamento using Samples the way i can using some of the Engines, Samples are simply Flat,
will overlap in Legato and no matter how C# is different then C when Legato it will Sound like a Squealing Pig.
Be it a 3000$ Kronos, 500$ Kontakt or ANYWHERE...Now, if you start talking about Scripting in the Caliber of
EWQL, SampleModeling, AudioBro, my friend and your Countryman Marios Paradisis from Hybrid Strings...then of course
you are right...but no, that's a different story, no machine can to that YET.
If you still up for me to prove the two points above where i said i will prove you wrong just say so and i will do so.
I base all of this ONLY on the FEEDBACK i received on these and other new sounds, here, right on top of US in this Topic
and also many other forums, emails, aquirements e tc. Whatever Sounded like SHOWING OFF up there i admit it does
exactly sound like that but unintentionally, its just stating facts, maybe not or known to you...but known to a lot of people
here on the forums and friends basically in all 4 corners of the world.
Thanks
The onyl time i did a better job on a Gaida was on Motif using the VL Card which even by today's
standards can beat Kronos in Physical Modeling. Here is an MP3, its PLG VL:

OK , let's make clear some things , first of all , I'll never intend to prove anything and at nobody,
really don't care , I always express my opinion and reveal my knowledge, mostly to help people.
All your efforts to experiment are commendable , nobody doubts about it , but let me know who is
experienced in physical modeling ,maths ,physics & scripting and don't get me wrong.
The obvious is not subjective but objective as also self-proved.
I developed projects with analog modeling and maths for most than 25 years and now I know the obvious
just like music production industry ,that works only on sample modeling and algorithms that is the
future of ideal instruments emulation ,many steps beyond sampling overlapping or similar secondary
issues that have been transcended.
You forget something in violin demo , it's for arranger , played with no controller ,only by
one hand DNC features and is also polyphonic !
That I want to say is that you have nothing to prove to me but to yourself , I just have my fundamental
knowledge & opinion that will never change ,whatever you claim , therefore seem better to continue your
research and your creative hobby and I promise I'll never make you a suggestion since you don't need any.
For me this conversation has been closed ,since I already feel boring with this ink wasting
.
And this answer has been given 'cause of my name's reference.
Thanks for your time
