SV1200 wrote:Mine was a 2010 Xpanded model, and the touch screen completely went out, so I don't think they ever changed or fixed the screen. I wouldn't hold back from buying a m3 though, if you buy one under warranty, they will fix if it's broken. If no warranty the new part is only $75.

Also, there is a good majority of people who still havnt had a screen issue, just like with anything sometimes you get a good one, and sometimes a bad.

Thank you very much for answer, SV1200 and kimu!

For me such a problem is a No Go because I don't buy a new product if I can take it that I will have such display problems in the future like many other M3 users still have. I found many threads about that problem in different forums since 2007 this is not a exception problem. And I don't understand why Korg didn't fix that problem in newer series and we still have to put our gear to service center for weeks ... ??

It seems, the Radias was my last Korg product. It's a pity because I bougth my first Korg synthesizer 15 years ago. ... but for me reliability is very important! :(
Sorry my english is not very good, so sometimes I have to edit my posts to delete mistakes!

My current equipment:
Korg Radias - Korg Trinity - Korg EMX - Access Virus B - Yamaha RS7000 - Roland JD990
Core i7 860 - DDR3 8 GB - RME HDSPe AIO - FL Studio 9/10 - Sonar 8 - Melodyne Studio 3 - Omnisphere - Trilan - Stylus RMX - East West PLAY - Sylenth - Vanguard - Synplant - µTonic - z3ta - Surge - Thesys - Flux Recording Pack ...

What I also used but meanwhile sold or only tested:
Kronos 88 (only tested) - Korg N364 - Korg Trinity V3 - AccessVirusA - Kawai K5000S - MC 505 - YomoXBase09 - Cubase 3/4 - Ableton8 - Reaper - Albino 3 - Predator - Rapture - Alchemy

a couple of good news from my side:

- first i finally been able to speak with an authorized technician, he made a check and say they have both the touchscreen surface and the LCD in their stock, so in case i just send them the M3 for repairing

- secondly, most important, i have read on karma-lab forum of a russian guy that had solved the problem heating the screen with a hair-dryer. so i try too this morning. at the beginning nothing change, but after a while step by step the touchscreen comes to life. initially just in the middle and then everywhere. i have been able to do calibration again and now seems to work. i will check if this solution last just for some hours (and hence the gel or film in the touchscreen is ruined) or if in the next days still keep on working!

I finally have tracked down the part I need.
Korg Canada service has been the worst customer dealing I have ever
experienced in my life.
It has been over two weeks and five phone calls to them and no answer
to my questions regarding the part I needed.
Tried customer service in the U.S.
Sorry they said, but you are Canadian, deal with Korg Canada.
Yeah,right.
With the help of aellison62,a forum member here, who had just had the same problem and had it fixed,I contacted his Korg authorized repair centre in the U.S.
The repair man ordered the part in and is shipping it to my girlfriends
NY state address.
She will then bring the part to Canada.
I will then take it to a Korg repair centre here.
If it wasn,t for this repair guy,I think I'd be SOL.
I profusely thanked him and told him to bill me extra for his time.
I use my phone to communicate and do business.
I use my internet to communicate and do business.
If either breaks down,I know the companies will get me back up and running quickly.
I use my M3 to communicate and do business.
Korg, your attitude toward me has been totally abhorrent.
I'm now into week three and you haven,t even bothered to call back.
I love my M3,but no more Korg for me.
Hey Korg customer service(lol)
What more is there to say,but.............
Kiss My ...

Received the film screen.
Took it to tech.
One hour labor.
It is a joy to have touchscreen working properly again.

aellison62 wrote:Actually, my repair shop told me that Korg DID say this part was no longer available but that they suggested a similar touchscreen part and that it would work fine. And it does. So, the truth is that the M3 original touchscreen is not available anymore, but a replacement that works is available.

Hope that helps. If you keep having trouble I could give you the # of my repair shop and you could call and ask which part # it was the he used to repair mine. (I just got me M3 back less than a week ago)
How can spare parts for the M3 - which is still in production and a current model - not be available? What are they using to build new M3s then?

If they are really no longer available, it's extremely poor not to have spare parts available for a model so recently in production. It's enough to deter me from buying a Korg product in the future to be honest.

I recently got a brand new keybed, tactile switches and LCD for my Roland JV-80 direct from Roland, and that was manufactured in 1993!
