Help please - strange sequencer/note hold issue

Post by roly D »

Hi all. I am hoping for help that may avoid me potentially having to re-record a sequencer track.

I was working on a completely different song in sequencer mode. Having made good progress, I did a "save seq". All good - until I decided to have a listen to an earlier, completely different, song I had not worked on for a couple of weeks.

When this other song started, midi track 3 - which contained a brass part - sounded like it was running every note together. I eventually stopped that by pressing my damper pedal. However whenever I stop the song it reverts back to the "held note" problem.

After temporarily fixing it again I also noticed that it sounded the like the pitch of the track had changed. This time I jiggled the joystick and it seemed to knock it back into tune - again temporarily.

I have been into program mode to check if something had somehow happened to the program, which I had used stock-standard rather than editing. It seemed to be operating completely normally.

All other midi tracks in the song seem to be playing as recorded. It is just this track 3 that seems to have a ghost in the machine that I have no idea how I might have brought into existence...

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I have tried the good old "turn it off and back on again".

Have you tried recording the controller adjustments into the beginning of the track?

They probably have values saved in the actual MIDI playback data.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Now if I only knew how to do it...

Try the manuals for guidance on how to do it.
