Set list in M50

Post by Art Rokz »

Hi again,
Is there a program for stacking combinations set list in M50? Example: When I play live music which we are going in different configurations and constant jumping between banks is burdensome.

Please help, thanks.

You can use PCG Tools (see the link in my signature below). It's a free app to easily rearrange combis (and it can do more, but for your case you are looking for moving/rearranging combis probably).

Not sure if this is what you want, but in Korg Synths I have always used the sequencer as a SET LIST. In SEQUENCER use COPY FROM Program or Combi into different NEW SONG slots and there is your Set List to switch between songs. For different gigs, you can save the SEQ and recall different sets at will. Only downside is when COPY FROM Prog or Combi. its name is not imported. So just rename the slot. However when you copy and paste within the sequencer (say when you need to reorder the list order), the names remain.

I've used PCG Tools to arrange all of my custom combis in order. These are all categorized under the "User" category. For the gig, I just do a category search, touch the "User" tab and stay on the screen that displays the list of combis - you get 16 combis per screen and you can change patches with just one touch. The settings load without the user ever having to leave that screen. And, you can scroll through multiple screens.

That idea is indeed very similar to the Set List feature of the Kronos.
However, when I used the M50 I didn't develop PCG Tools yet.
Btw, this is usable for all supported synths by PCG Tools.
