Tips for using Kronos with a DAW

All this time you have not installed the K driver?
If you have and now see it, in Cubase you have to make sure it is selected properly. It's a one time selection.
In your track if you select this and point it to an Aux. or other means of audio within the track you should finally get to hear your keyboard.
Very hard doing this from here and not enough clearly defined info..

Cannot find Sysex to MIDI CC Command
I am looking at the global/MIDI page, and cannot find a command instruct the Kronos to use MIDI CC as an alternative to sysex.
I played a patch, and moved the filter cutoff, hoping to record MIDI CC #74 commands, but got sysex instead.
The page I am viewng is GLOBAL P1:MIDI

I am not behind my Kronos at the moment, but that option is either on the first Global page or on the MIDI page. It's in a small area to the right, as far as I remember.

I use Cubase 4 and after I installed the latest driver I can see both the Kronos and my Triton in the drop-down connection/input/output menu of the MIDI channel.
I've been using the USB connection and can recieve and play midi signals and monitor the Kronos sounds from midi tracks directly from within Cubase.
Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling the latest Korg driver?
Or if you are using Windows XP there may be a problem with the driver limitation problem preventing devices from being recognised.

I was asking what you were having trouble with.
I got my Kronos home, plugged in the same midi cables (not USB) that were plugged into the kurzweil it replaced...put into combi mode and sequenced it with cubase 6.
Adding the use of the korg USB is just another layer to troubleshoot. Ie, if your Roland midi works with another board, it works with the Kronos-and any other midi keyboard, without further configuration on the computer...unless you want the pathnames inside Cubase. That's all I was saying. There should be no device specific challenge to sequence a keyboard, save the potential 5 min to figure out how to put it into multitibral mode.

I'm using cubase 7 and sometimes Logic pro 9
Is there a way to use KRONOS as a DAW CONTROLLER like Tascams or euphonics etc....
There are 8 + 2 midi faders and 8 knobs !!! can'twe use them while mixing in DAW ?
Panning audio channels and controlling cubase audio channel faders even plug ins with quick controls !
This sounds fantastic but ?

Sure you can do that. I have mine set up for Logic and it does exactly what you are asking.anticipation wrote:I'm using cubase 7 and sometimes Logic pro 9

how did you do that ? is there any guideline for it ? Settings on kronos ? settings in DAW ? matching the waves plugins with the knobs ?ed_f wrote:Sure you can do that. There is no exact procedure - it is kind of a combination of things based on your equipment and what you want to do.anticipation wrote:how did you do that ? is there any guideline for it ? You have the option of using default settings in the control surfaces and using "midi learn" on the DAW side if that is available. If not you can also assign a CC# to any of the controllers to match what is being used in the DAW.
