Who else on the board has an O1/Wfd besides me?

Discussion relating to all other KORG synth related products that don’t have a dedicated section. For example, OASYS PCI, M1, N Series, 01W series, T series, and more…

I have one if you're interested? Backlight is a bit dull now, but all works fine. PM if you want to know more.

01/W was the first synth I fell in love with.

I was stupid and sold my original one. But I ended up buying another one which I have now (getting a motherboard and power supply overhaul :) )

i still own one its unique out of the ai2 synth engines as it has waveshapers

and making your own pcm cards is easy although expensive £70-100 for the 2mb pcm card before you stick pcm on it

using the wave shapers you can coax fm type emulations out of it

the x5d which has the 01w sound set and 300 more multisounds can create all the 01w sounds apart from the waveshaper type patches

01wfd lover from the netherlands here.. bought my first one around 1998, but sold it,.. and immediately had regrets the next day :( had a X3 for some years, but thats nothing comparing to a 01Wfd,.. but since 6 months or so, .. i have a 01WFD BACK!!!!! yesss very happy with it,.. but i need to replace the lcd screen.. have no manual with it,.. and no disk or anything.

Back in the days i used a simple editor/librarian... i could use such a thing back again.. so if anyone have a editor/librarian to share?? please think of me

greets from the netherlands,
Richard

Hallo Richard, I'm sure you will find some resources on korg.com, check the support page for 01W/FD. Greetings from the Netherlands.

As far as i'm aware ChangeIt is the best free editor/librarian for the 01/W and the one i've used since forever.
The editor is for the Roland JV/XP series and for the Korg 01/W series.
You can edit and audition the changes in real time on the synth.

I wish i could find an editor as good for my T3...

You can still download ChangeIt here: http://www.mossgrabers.de/Software/Chan ... ngeIt.html

soundiver has a good t1/2/3 editor as i use it regularly

theres a beta free release available and works on winxp

change it is a very good program and you can set up any generic settings in the generic section

i use it to send sysex dumps to my z1 and t1 and t3ex

Hi jhulk, thanks for the tip
Do you have a link for the soundiver?

You can use changeit to send syx files to the T3? I wasn't aware of that, if so that's great. I've always had some problems with midiox sometimes not sending all the parameters correctly. How do you use changeit to send the syx files?

Thanks mate  That helps a lot, i've never payed much attention to the generic tab, only used the 01/W and JV tabs.
Yep midiox is a pain to use error free. I went thru hell to match processing speeds between the pc and the t3 when i got it. Hopefully i finaly managed to send the factory set without errors. But it still gives me errors on a lot of files, especially when dumping from the T3 as the file gets to the PC ok because i use it with the Legacy M1 afterwords, but if i need to send it back to the T3 it goes with lots of errors.
ChangeIt is great for bulk sysex dumps then, however to get the editor and library functions for T series similar to what changeit has for the 01/W, i don't know any good free ones. Does sounddiver has that functions?
What i mean is opening the syx file and having the total list of patches available that you can edit, copy, paste, and audition in real time, and send that single patch in real time to the T3. That really helps a lot because i hate to program and organize patches on the keyboard itself.

It's always a pain to get today's fast PC's to communicate properly with older synths, and to get older soft to work properly too

sounddiver can send a single patch and you edit one patch at a time as there is only one edit buffer

but it is good

the guy who made changeit has these instruments so knows the buffers get cloged his delay settings are perfect

midi ox never liked it always problematic

i can send you the sounddiver but dont know if it will work on your system

That's great, thanks. If you could send it to me i would appreciate a lot, thank's in advance. I'll PM you my email.

I have the sounddiver for Trinity and the JV1010, but it's been a few years since i've used it so i don't remember anymore how it worked
but i remember it was a good soft, so to have it for the T3 would be great.
I'm using an old Acer Aspire One laptop with Win XP for working with the synths, it should work.

BTW, do you have an idea on the value of a good condition used T3 these days? I'm asking because i've spotted a guy selling one and i wouldn't mind getting another but only if it was cheap. I think this guy is crazy, he is asking 750€ for it, i honestly think i will not manage to sell it even for half that value. When i got my T3ex i got it for 120€ great condition, now i know i was lucky, but 750 is ridiculous...
