I guess someone at Roland was impressed with the Kronos and made a cheap copy :)

BUT... if my son wanted an easy to use synth this would be an alternative to the krome (he finds the Kronos GUI a bit difficult..his 12)

oh my LMFAO,

as soon as he played the piano sound on it and then added the strings, I stopped the video....LOL! I mean come on if this is their flagship workstation and they know people adore the piano's of the Kronos why would they even start the demo with a crappy piano like that. The strings sounded like tape strings too, and I was thinking of adding the integra-7 to my workspace, I know this is the FA-06 but its basically an Integra-7 with a keybed. I would rather get more EW/Quantum leap products or NI Komplete with my dough than this piece.....I feel bad for roland, they had such promise in the past. IMHO, the Fantom-G was one of their best product of the past 10 years.

Thanks for sharing the video though ShaneBlyth.

There are two pages I linked too the Roland page has a video on it too and what they play is definitely not any acoustic sounds also I found the second half of the sonic state video more interesting. Yes the piano strings sounded real bad I like the inbuilt ableton like beat repeat stutter effects and the way the pads can work. So has some nice ideas the screen is suppose to be high res.

You're not going to buy the FA-06 to play the piano on it, but to access its vast classic synth libraries that are at the Axial website.

Pending auditioning it, I'd say Roland are going to sell lots of this, simply because of the price it's pitched at. £825 street ($1350 or so) for the 61 keys, with a core based on the Integra-7, I cannot see how it would not sell.

Buyers of the Kronos will probably not be tempted by the FA-06. But buyers of the Krome or KingKorg are going to have to think long and hard about this synth. Even buyers of the MOX6 will have to consider spending a bit more to get the FA-06.

agreed....your right buyers are not going to base it on the piano only, which really brought back memories of like an old 90's Yamaha Portable....lol. There are a lot of excellent Roland sounds in the Integra and the FA-06 im sure, and it certainly is worth a look for the price. I just had to laugh a little. Actually if I can get an Integra-7 for better than $1900, I would consider buying one.

Considering:
- the price
- the Integra7 sounds selection
- Ableton like looper / step sequencer

I would consider it to a good Kronos companion because it can add useful stuff without overlapping ... I miss a fast way to create "on the fly" a loop with 3/4 tracks to play on Kronos, for example

The references to the Integra 7 are kind of misleading.

From what I can see, the FA06 doesn't have the following Integra banks sounds.

SRX-01 Dynamic Drum Kits
SRX-02 Concert Piano
SRX-03 Studio SRX
SRX-04 Symphonique Strings
SRX-05 Supreme Dance
SRX-06 Complete Orchestra
SRX-07 Ultimate Keys
SRX-08 Platinum Trax
SRX-09 World Collection
SRX-10 Big Brass Ensemble
SRX-11 Complete Piano
SRX-12 Classic EPs
ExSN1 Ethnic
ExSN2 Wood Winds
ExSN3 Session
ExSN4 A.Guitar
ExSN5 Brass
ExSN6 SFX
ExPCM HQ GM2 + HQ PCM Sound Collection

So why all the Integra references. It'a a far cry from an Integra 7.

Sharp.

they also pitched as a controller specifically mentioning MainStage users.

To be checked.

The demo guy mentions you can install all the Axial Integra-7 sounds. Perhaps it's only the engine that is the same.

Nobody said the FA06 engine was an Integra 7. The synth sounds are patch compatible with Integra. Many of the sounds that use SN Synth and 5080 PCM waves were ported from Integra's library. There is a "collection" of SN acoustic instruments but not all from Jupiter and certainly none of the ExSNa instruments found in Integra 7. FX configuration is identical. I see no issue referencing Integra in their marketing.

The full spec is on Roland's site now, so I think that conforms it is missing all those banks I mentioned.

So typically Roland, keeps me wondering why? Or why not all the integra7 sounds?

But there are 2 things that i would love to see on the successor of the kronos, that are the touch sensitive drum pads, and the instant DAW integration..
