Piss poor!!

Post by agus69 »

I'm sorry, but I am completely losing faith in Korg. This has been my go to company for hardware since the '80's. I own quite a bit of korg kit, but when it comes to iOS development, you guys have completely sh1t the bed! Your apps suck and are missing key elements that other developers have released from the first day their products are launched. And charging these steep prices for such garbage is an outrage! With Gadget, you folks have taken forever to come out with an update to address problems that have been complained about since its launch and all we got was landscape mode and 2 crappy in-app purchases! How about actually fixing the piano roll? Adding proper edit functions? WHERE's THE BLOODY UNDO, for F@CK SAKES?!?!?!?!?and how do you justify an in-app purchase that has no demo? No videos on how the gadgets work, just a really doodoo audio sample. Come on Korg! Wtf are you guys doing? Seems like you're just out to rip-off the amateur enthusiast and piss of the professional. I have bought every single korg app in the app store and can say that I am 100% disappointed in the actual functionality of said apps and I'm done with this company. In fact, I want a bloody refund!! Gadget just put the icing on the cake. Shape up or I'm pretty sure a lot of others will follow suit.

PS; this forum is a joke. Not one response from a korg moderator or specialist on most of the posts in this section. Goes to show you how much they care about what people really think and feel about their products, not to mention the lack of attention paid to those with actual complaints and problems within their apps. Tisk tisk

Looks like you have a lot of stress.

What is a 'Korg moderator'? Afaik, there are only forum moderators and those are not Korg employees.

And so much a Korg fan and only two posts on this great forum? Maybe it depends on the way a question or post is made ... looking at the way you write I can imagine people do not (dare to) react.

But here is my response, hope it relieves a bit of stress for you.

I completely disagree, I think the Gadget update was awesome and well worth the price.

Landscape mode was the best part of the update. Now I can use it properly when I have the iPad docked.

I agree with the thread starter.
Some basic stuff utterly ignored, and spent a lot of dev time adding the functionality for purchasing hobbled overpriced addons.

Essentially they see iOS as a quick dev cycle with high profits.
A no brainer if making money is prime.

Yeah, it's not a bad app, but let me just remove your rose tinted glasses and slap you hard.
This is KORG.
Remember......KORG.

Basic features missing.
But give us MORE money.

Yeah...right.

This forum is *** NOT *** owned or run by KORG. It's owned and run by end users just like you. So consider yourself darn lucky this place even exists because it takes a lot of time, effort and money to keep us, “our non-profit website” online for people like you to enjoy and meet fellow KORG end users.

I realize that frustration with a purchase can be a reason to find an internet forum, but someone who spends his first few posts insulting the community and ranting against Korg can't be taken seriously by a forum of Korg enthusiasts. Keep up the great work, Sharp!

...wait!... come back!

OP was apparently under the illusion that WE at KF are KORG tech support and/or Product Development.

As Sharp politely pointed out, that is just not true, but if agus69 cares to look he'll see responses from guys with thousands (+!) of posts each; end users, working musicians, hobbyists, software developers, bangers and long-time korg fans -- we are YOU, agus69.

You've acted like an employee ranting against his boss, but pulling a gun on his co-workers.

You're a Korg player since the 80's - that's 30 years of at least decent hardware from M1 through Kronos - so if you're feeling abused it's probably a recent development. That you've bought in to the idea of iOS as the pinnacle of hardware/software paradigm may be the root of your problem. I'd bet there'd be far fewer complaints if you'd gone for a Mac and full version software (Korg Legacy Collection) rather than looking for a be-all-end-all product for $50.

There is value in this forum.

There is commiseration for your problems.

There are even answers to some of them.

Stick around and make a 3rd, a 30th, a 300th post and see if the investment of time into a community has some worth to you.

I wish there were like button here - billbaker's post says it all in a nutshell.

I understand the frustration of the OP but having lived with a couple of people who go off in the same manner, nothing pisses me off more than an unsubstantiated rant because it sets off the TROLL-Alarm.

If you've owned stuff since the 80's, you've got to be at least as old as I am (50ish) and I'd expect something more reasoned from a "mature" person.

The argument of cost can be countered simply by STFU for a moment and asking yourself how much it would cost for the equivalent app in a desktop environment, remembering of course that for the most part, you've now lost the touch GUI (for whatever value you place on it)

Next, where, exactly, is the list of every single issue which for the OP "breaks" every single app?

When did this get fed back to KORG directly, not an enthusiasts group?

Here's the link to Korg

Finally, no-one - i repeat no-one - holds a gun to anyone's head, least of all a middle-aged person, and forces them to buy anything; that's purely the buyer's choice.

If the apps were that unusable for you, why the hell did you not not seek an immediate refund in each case and and why on earth did you keep buying each app, after the first couple of disappointments?

Sounds to me like a case of the OP having mega splurge on Korg iOS apps all in one hit - maybe a couple of hundred dollars tops - and then slowly working through each one, ten minutes at a time...

The only thing that's joke right now is the post which started this thread.

If the OP isn't just some lame-arse dummy-spitter who blames everyone else for his/her problems, then I look forward to reading a schedule of issues which we may all learn from and help with.

I hold no grudge against people, just reactionary emotive behaviour...

Hello all. Like the above poster, I thought this was Korg's tech support forum too. I love Korg's iOS apps and I'm happy to have found this forum.
