Korg TR-61 .PCG "File Unavailable"

Post by ssman »

Hi,

I've been trying to add new sounds to my Korg TR-61 via my SD card, but every time I try to load the .PCG file, a pop-up tells me that the file is unavailable.

The sounds I'm trying to add to my workstation were originally made for Korg Kronos, but .PCG file formats are supposed to be compatible with both of the devices (Korg TR and Korg Kronos). Does anyone know the reason I'm having this issue?

I've also heard that Korg Kronos and Korg TR have different synthesizer engines, which is why the "File Unavailable" problem even occurs. If that's the case, then can someone help me out and tell me how to make the Korg Kronos .PCG files compatible with my Korg TR?

If there isn't a way to make the .PCG files compatible, then is there a way to use the .PCG files in a sound editor software (such as Fl Studio 11, Ableton Live etc.)?

I'm really looking for your help guys, and I hope we can solve it together. I'm desperate :?

You get this error when a PCG file is either corrupt or when it's not supported by your model.

And sorry to say, but the TR and Kronos PCG files are really NOT compatible.
