Transpose in set list mode

The ability to transpose any given slot in set list mode is a very welcome addition to the kronos, for folks like myself who use it for live work.
However, the big issue is the size of the font on the transpose display, which is tiny, which means, for an old guy like me, you cannt see whether it's back to original or not. A real pain!!!

Any suggestions, can you make this bigger, or any good workarounds??

I had to leave the setlist and reload it, as I couldn't tell where it was at transpose wise, and I had to use the same slot but back to normal tuning fir next song, only way to guarantee I was going to be in tune!!!!!

Any ideas welcome

Just write it in the info box of that belong to each "tile". There you can decide how big you want the font:-)

Try this- In Set List Edit Mode- touch the transpose box so it is selected- it will be black numerals on a white background and pretty much "glow" so you know you've done that part right. Now go to the physical keypad and press "0". I know those numbers are kinda small too, but you can easily memorize it's location. Press "Enter" (second button to the right of "0") and you are good to go. No squinting or scrolling. And you know you are dead on at "0". If you have songs that you do regularly and are transposing, why not make a Slot for that, call it the song name and put a note in the comments as to what key you are transposing to. Then select the 8 or 4 slot mode so you can see the comments. then set a nice LARGE font size for that slot.

You can color code the slots that you transpose. In my case, all green setlist slots are transposed +1.

I use this option too ... and it is nice to know at a glance (to prevent saying chords to other band members). Maybe I will build this in PCG Tools (automatically define a color to change all transposed set list slots).

just to be clear, this is for 'on the fly' transpose', rather than regular song in differing key - in that case I agree, you can save a slot transposed, then no hassle (or learn the song in the new key!)

I like the idea of using the buttons, it gives certainty as to what your setting it at, which is the problem. My eyesight is not bad (just very small stuff), but on stage, lots happening, dark etc!!
I will try that out.

I'am 40+, and my eyesight is not that good anymore.
I use a pair of glass when I need to look at the screen.
In live situation it is a pain in the ass... But Korg can not be blamed on that.
I like the fact we can have many many info on the screen, and that ask for small size fonts. Even though, some still could be bigger... but not Korg's fault...

Not a blame thing, but as live keyboard player, dedicated transpose buttons on the board are a must, one of the few things I don't like about Kronos.

I also carry my glasses (all the young players now scoffing...just wait!!), but again having to find glasses, put on, transpose, take off etc just too slow during live set.

I use the buttons quite a bit in live performance. Sometimes a GUI just doesn't cut it. here's an example. If I need to call up a set list slide that isn't on the currently displayed page, and I know the number of the slot, I just punch that in and hit enter. No need to poke around at the screen and try to see what I'm looking for. Also I use a lot of the "rec/write" key when changing values on the fly cuz its so much easier to just hit the OK button on the screen, instead of having to use the page menu commands and poke around at that. Same thing with the timbre on off switches- it's much easier to just hit the physical button then those on the screen. same goes for the sliders. I am an old analog guy, so the more things I can get my fingers on, the happier I am. Touch screens are nice but sometimes they are a little finicky. And yes as is the case with the Kronos sometimes they are quite difficult to read. But I do also have reading glasses close at hand in case I have to get into anything halfway involved and need to be staring at the screen and looking at values etc. Fortunately I don't have to do a lot of on the spot transposing. I tend to try to learn how to play in the keys no matter how bad it is- f sharp and E flat minor being one of the worst.

On Set list press your named patch click on small transpose window at top right of screen ( this is on the updated 3.0 version )
Transpose up or down and press very top of screen ( down arrow) and press save set list . It will be saved transposed every time you turn on Kronos.
Colour code the patch so you can see it and that's it.

Good point, but the OP was talking about working on the fly and transposing in a live situation. Sounds like he's in a band that calls out a lot of songs and decides keys on the spot. Maybe due to a non regular singer needing a key change. Not sure. Maybe he will clarify for us.

You can use the "REC/WRITE" key in place of the Page Menu Commands to save Set Lists. It saves a few steps and a lot of squinting! The "REC/WRITE" works for a lot of functions.

Just uploaded new version...and hey slightly larger font! Good for my poor old eyes! And that 4;8;16 set list screen choice? Great - can write more prompts on screen. That german grand sound is much improved - great aftertouch in higher registers! More discoveries to be found I'm sure. Well done again Korg

There is aftertouch on the German Grand? What does it do?
