KORG - This is "Rediculous"

Post by geoelectro »

OK. I bought a Kronos 61 back in 2012 and it has been great! I put all the updates in it every time they became available. I use it every week.

Here's my problem... Why is there only 61 Keys!?! Sure it's a K61 and I get all that, but 61 keys? Why not 62 or 63? Do you know what we could do with two extra keys!!!

I could program a special sound on the extra key while still having a full 5 octave organ or synth! It seems that KORG has looked to the past rather than the future on this. I guess it's just easier to copy old engineering drawings than to actually think and draw something new! Really? Here's some of the things we could use extra keys for;

1) I could program a backing track to trigger from an extra key and still have a full 61 note keyboard.
2) If the extra keys were placed on both ends of the keyboard I could program a warning sound to remind me I was getting to the ends.
3) Say I have a cat that is bothering me, I could use an extra key to program a dog bark and use it to scare him off.
4) I could say to my musician friends that only have 61 note keyboards that mine was better!!!!

I'm sure there's way more things here and I hope others chime in.
C'mon KORG, if you're reading this, make it right!

Korg was thinking that's why they have a kronos88 that will serve all your needs and more.

Good luck with your problems and I hope you get them solved and that's why I bought a K88 not to be funny but I was thinking ahead. But each person has their way of doing things.

Cut off the pinky finger on each of your hands and the 61 key will be just perfect for you.

this is a ridiculous discussion.

You can buy another Kronos 61 and have 61 'effect' keys.

Couldn't agree more - Korg should make an OS upgrade enabling a selection of sizes and then design a range of clip-on extensions to the K61 - easy solution

I'd go for a 77key add-on clip-on (77 is my lucky number)

Grate topic!!!

I want a board with only white keys.

Never forgotten a grump old man at the club I was resident at telling me 'when are you going to play the black notes and stop flicking the other notes'

I was 17 playing a Hammond C3 for £20 a night, I was heart broken, until I was informed that he was the resident W*****
