How best to disable Vector Joystick?

Post by NJkeysman888 »

I play mostly live and I have not found a need yet for using the Vector Joystick playing live. My music is fairly straight forward so I've not had the need to use it.

However, it is programmed on almost every sound to do something. And often I wind up bumping it into a position that drops out something significant to the program or combi that I am playing. It is very fluid and easily moved inadvertently.

I've tried to find how to disable it, but it seems that each of the synth engines has a slightly different way. Which leads me to believe that I am just not doing it correctly.

Aside from taping it into the center position, is there a way to turn it off when I don't need that option which is most of the time for me?

Thanks in advance.

If u are going to tape it in place, move it all the way down (or to any edge). It will be more securely locked in place and the programs don't register its position until it's moved so there's no problem with it being off centre.

According to the Parameter Guide, go to Global P2: Controllers/Scales 2-1: Controllers and under MIDI CC# Assign - Vector Joystick / Pads set VJS X and VJS Y to OFF. This should disable the Vector Joystick.

Thanks for this tip ... Until now I reprogrammed several parameters per program/combi.

A couple of years ago, I disabled my Vector Joystick by following the commands above. Now I'd like to re-enable my Vector Joystick. What should the MIDI CC# Assign Values be for VJS X and VJS Y?

Can someone please check your Global Settings above and let me know these values so I can re-enable my VJS?

Thanks!
