Hello to all the forum :D
I bought a cheap second SSD 240 Gb Corsair Force 3 mounted in kronos,
with the 2.2 OS immediately recognized and formatted with no problem. (Korg has definitely solved the probema of large partitions) Now I have a Kronos XXXX ... Having already replaced the first to 30Gb with a verbatim from other 256gb is at an altitude of 500 GB. Given the opportunity I have solved the problem noise fan with 4 pads removed by a motor of an old cassette deck. I swear I did not disassemble the Kronos more!

Does anyone see a problem using an Intel SSDSA2M0G2GC 80GB 2.5 inch 3gbs SATA...... I have one that I could put in now without spending money (I don't have). I could use it for a recording project on Tues. Can some of your computer types give me your thoughts? Thanks!

What you need is......
240-Pin PC2-6400 CL-5 (or CL-6) DDR2-800 non-ECC Unbuffered DIMM 1GB

I just walked into my local PC store and took the first DDR2-800 PC2-6400 I saw.

You can, but it's a waste of money.
If you put 2GB in, only 1GB of that will be seen as the OS is 32Bit and therefore it has a limit of 3GB in total.

Sharp.

Just put in the Intel SSDSA2M0G2GC 80GB and formated it.

No problems....thanks to Sharp's video and you guys.
If I can do it....anyone can. I only went with 80 gigs because I had the SSD without having to lose any cash. Just in time for a recording tomorrow for some clients.

Just added Legendary Strings..... Sweet!

The Legendary Strings has alread gotten me 2 recording jobs. :)

Seems YouTube have limited my account. They are trying to force me to add my real name, addres and phone number.

lol... After all the $hit I've seen see on TV in the last few days with the NSA spying on everyone, they can go feck off. Give me a moment and I will see if I can get my account back some other way.

Yes, it's extremely likely to work perfectly. Nobody can say for 100% sure unless they have installed one into the KRONOS. From reading the specs off the manufactures website, there's no reason in the world why it shouldn't work perfectly. It ticks every box.

Just wanting to alert you that the motherboard and placement of the SATA 0 and SATA 1 connections on the board are different than shown in all the DIY videos and picks here. Cal

My new k2-88 is sitting in pieces in my basement while I try to discover how to get the cable in underneath the internal structure. I'm hoping someone can tell us the key to this install.
Cal

The video is for the original KRONOS as that's the only version that existed back then. New revisions of the KRONOS use newer motherboards.
Are you only having problems trying to run the cable under the clips, or do you need help identifying what SATA Ports to use?

If you need to know what ports to use, can you please post the model number of your motherboard. It will be written on it and very obvious to identify.

Thanks, I did understand the models were different, I just hadn't thought there'd be such change to the location of the SATA ports on the mobo. The issue is difficulty to insert the cable connector into the SATA 0 port, as it's tucked under a steel frame component and complicated by the clips holding the RAM sticks in their seated position.
