Best strategy to organize banks
How Do you organize user Banks? I bought some Patches and also tried some free Patches mostly HD-1. Now I would like to reorganize them including the loaded samples. Normally you add a ksc file to the auto load if you like to have it present. I guess it would be a good way also to rewrite the ksc file to reduce the sice within the Memory. I used the PGC Tools to reorganize the Programms. By the way if I load Patches with USERGE is the GE always just added to the existing GE's? And what about included DrumTracks? Do the exitig Drum Tracks get replaced or is there a Limit for importing drum tracks that come with Patches?
Here it is, it might answer your questions.

To reorganize DrumTracks perhaps TidyKronos can help you.Carsten72 wrote:How Do you organize user Banks? I bought some Patches and also tried some free Patches mostly HD-1. Melomaniak, thanks again for your free software! Can we hope that TydyKronos can work with virtual banks?Melomaniak wrote:To reorganize DrumTracks perhaps TidyKronos can help you.Carsten72 wrote:How Do you organize user Banks? Yes I know about this basic functions, but what about the ksc files that have to preloaded? As far as I know there is the option on loading to append the sample data to the already preloaded data. But if no RAM is available anymore I guess you first have to unload a preloaded sample data or to clear the RAM. If I have 3rd party patches on one bank and I don't want to keep all Patches by default.jones wrote:Here it is, it might answer your questions.

Let's say I load a whole soundset from QR to one bank. Let's assume you've to add a ksc file to the autoload to have them present after start up. What do I do if I only want to Keep 20 of 130 Patches without preloading the whole ksc file which may contain much more sampling data then needed?

I solve this for me like this:Carsten72 wrote:Yes I know about this basic functions, but what about the ksc files that have to preloaded? 1. Delete all sounds, I never use (Or just load the patches I want to use).
I also look with TidyKronos if the patch I want to delete is used by a combination or a song. In this case I "change the timbre reference" (a combination function of TidyKronos) of the combis and songs to another patch that sounds nearly equal.
I put all patches I want to "delete" in a unused (sub)category. I also made a special HD-1 and EXi Init program (e.g. I set the main volume to 0). You can copy these init programs to all that delete-patches in a few steps (using TidyKronos)
2. Starting the Kronos without any sample
Unselect all KSCs in the [Global][Basic][KSC Auto-Load]. And start the Kronos again.
To Korg: It would be nice if there is a key (e.g. the 0 key) that we can press in the first 5 boot-seconds, and no KSC will loading then.
3. Go manually through all programs! And load all samples manually!
Whenever "Samples Not Loaded" is shown on the program main screen, I just "Load only required samples" from the Kornos menu.
Yes, this is a "hard" work, and I wish korg will make this easier.
4. Saving a new KSC file and put only this in the KSC Auto-Load.
After this you can be sure, only the samples are loaded you need only for the programs you want to use.

I've done this procedure and it makes for much quicker startup.Melomaniak wrote:I solve this for me like this:Carsten72 wrote:Yes I know about this basic functions, but what about the ksc files that have to preloaded? Yes. And you have more sample ram for new patches left.drama1 wrote:I've done this procedure and it makes for much quicker startup.Melomaniak wrote:I solve this for me like this:Carsten72 wrote: Yes I know about this basic functions, but what about the ksc files that have to preloaded? Please Korg, make a function for the procedure 3.
To Carsten72 and michelkeijzers: How do you organice your samples?
Please use TidyKronos http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=98779 for other topics please. There we can discuss new features of TidyKronos.

To be honest, I barely use a lot of additional samples except for some libraries I have. I add the KSC files to the auto-load files (meaning the original Kronos KSC files, the extra libraries KSC files and one USER.ksc file containing a few own samples).Melomaniak wrote: To Carsten72 and michelkeijzers: How do you organice your samples?
