Korg Minilogue 4 voice poly analog ....

Just wanted to inform for those who didn't know.

I have to say, for me the Minilogue remains the highlight of this year's NAMM, a 4-voice polyphonic synth for less than 600 Euros, and it sounds fantastic.
I suspected KORG might come up with a new analog synth, but I did not anticipate the Minilogue, really well done KORG.

I would have agreed with you - on the analogue synth front, until the Arturia MatrixBrute showed up.

Have never seen an instrument steal the show as much as this has. It'll be regarded as the synth of 2016.

Unless Arturia's famous build quality issues and buggy OS programming happens... Which isn't completely unlikely, unfortunately.

Not to mention the non existent customer support when things go wrong!,I Wouldn't touch the Maxibrute with a barge pole,for the price point that this is supposedly going to be it needs to be bulletproof.

Unless lessons have been learnt by them,There's going to be a few very unhappy and disgruntled owners based on personal experience and that of others of the Minibrute and Arturias lack of support,I will never touch Arturia hardware ever again certainly not sub 2000 euros worth.

Anyways, Arturias new synth looks quite interesting, and it deserves having a closer look at it and it's price tag, as soon as it can be bought.

After that I use all 100 user memories, can I save a backup on a PC?

Is in the planning a PC editor?

I heard a synth maker concede, what Korg did with the Minilogue at that price point is next to impossible.

We think Tatsuya and his team have done something really special here. Its like the changing of the guards, passing the torch, handing over the baton to a new generation of synth design/sound engineers and we like what we are hearing!!!

I have had mine for a week now. This synth is a whole lot of fun and amazing features for it's price. My son wants one of his own now. It is extremely user friendly whether you know about sound design on subtractive synths or not.

And the sound - incredibly great at price point.

I find myself very satisfied with synths when I have looked at what they do for the price they sell at and this one just has so much for so little cost.

Outstanding Korg! I was ready to purchase an MS20 module or Korg Arp Odyssey, but then I got news of this and they happened to have one at my local SamAsh. I played with it for about 20 minutes and then bought it. It was an instant hit with me. Really can create a wide variety of sounds with it for only having limited controls. The little Oscilloscope was brilliant.

I haven't seen any official news about an editor yet, but you can use a Sysex Librarian (MIDI OX on PC, Sysex Librarian from snoize.com on Mac) to receive and dump patches and global info, and to save them on your PC. Once you understand how that works, it's easy.

There are "Dump" utilities in the Edit Menu on the Minilogue, those transmit the Sysex data to the PC.

To receive a patch from the PC (PC or Mac, same process), simply choose a saved patch (from your Minilogue!) and -- after making sure you have selected a patch location you are willing to overwrite -- simply Send Sysex to the Minilogue. To save that patch, simply hit Write, the way you would normally do to save a patch when unconnected.

Also, after you use up all 100 user memories, you can start overwriting the 100 factory patches - they are not fixed in there forever, you can write over them.
