Can one use a foot switch to toggle between patches?
Greetings,
I'd like to be able to easily switch between two patches during one song. That is, toggle back and forth between a piano patch and an organ patch. Then back to the piano patch etc.
Would a foot switch work for this?
Kind Regards,
Mike

Too bad this is not possible ... WIth two foot switches it is possible (e.g. by using a MIDI foot pedal board). You can than set a switch to patch up and patch down.
It would be nice if the set list would be a bit smarter and the end of a 'song' could be set... e.g. if Set list slot 10-12 is one song, to denote 12 as the last-slot-index of the song (by a checkbox) and have a single switch toggle between slots 10, 11, 12, 10, 11, 12 etc. For a 2 slot song it would be e.g. 11, 12, 11, 12 which is what you want.

Can you put the two patches in a combi? This page tells you how to switch on a patch with a switch (which you could link to foot switch).
http://www.kromeheaven.com/index.php/so ... h-a-button
You could set the other switch to turn on the other patch.
I have read somewhere - it is possible to fade one patch in and reduce the other in a combi. I can post that when I find it...I might want to do it myself for a song...
all the best
John

Thanks Michel and jcw for the replies.
@jcw - a combi might be an option, but I'd really like to switch between two combis, as some have multiple programs in them.
Regardless, I assume going the combi route would still require two switches (like Michel said)? If so, looks like I'd have a couple options with that.
Thanks,
Mike

There is another solution that involves the use of an iPad and an app and a fair learning curve in hex programming.
That app is Unrealbook. I have been using it for about 2 years, and for me it contains my fake sheets, which have coding embedded so that when I turn the page to the next song, all my patches change. This speeds up changing patches for the next song. Done is seconds.
In your case, an available foot switch that works with the app to go forward or back to a next/previous page can work. Billy Joel's keyboard player uses this, and for example "an Italian Restaurant" needs several patch changes through the song, those changes are done with the foot switch.
Sorry so wordy. You may have already considered this, but I hope it is helpful.
