Korg N364 Factory patches in sys format

Post by shirreff »

Hi all
I have a korg n364 with a dead disk drive, I would like to load in the factory sounds using midi but I can't find the system exclusive file anywhere. I can easily download the PCG file but I need the system exclusive as I don't have a floppy disk drive on my pc.
Can anyone help?

The files appear to be here...
http://www.sysexdb.com/synth_detail.aspx?dv=140
...but I don't have a compatible model to check with.

Also, see:

Yeah, I've been there and could not get those files to work. I'm pretty sure I've set it up right to receive the data.

Did you look at the Korg Forums thread I linked to?

I did yeah, the software is not compatible with Windows 10 which is really frustrating. I have ordered a USB external floppy drive for my pc as well as a new disk drive for my n364 so I will hopefully manage it that way. I've heard before that the USB floppy drives don't work with the Korg formatting though but I'll give it a go. My old pc died which did have a floppy drive, my windows 10 pc has no option to add a floppy drive.

I looked into things a bit more. The header for N364 SysEx files should be F0 43 3n 35, where n=0 for the first device. None of the files at http://www.sysexdb.com/synth_detail.aspx?dv=140 have that header, so they're apparently not valid. It seems they aren't checked - see http://www.sysexdb.com/.

There shouldn't be any "Korg formatting" issue for N364 floppies. Floppy disks for the N364 should be MS-DOS formatted - the disk can be formatted in the N364's drive, once it's functional. The PCG file can be copied to that disk using the computer's drive. The N364 should then be able to read the file.
