How to create a single PCG
Hi guys.
I have a sampled piano sound, in SF2 format, created in Extreme Sample Converter.
I already imported it to Kronos but I have two problems:
1- I created the KSC for the sampled piano in Kronos but when I open the KSC file with NOTEPAD I can see more information than only the folder with the samples of my piano. I don't know why on the KSC file appears 6 ou 7 different folders that I didn't use when I created my piano. My question is, how can I create a KSC file with only the necessary folder of my piano samples, without other folders?
2- My second question is related with the first one, how can I create a PCG file of my single instrument, not of an entire bank of Kronos?
Thanks
Mark

1. a KSC file doesn't contain samples. It's only an index file. Beside the .KSC file, you have a folder, with the same name, which contains .KMP lines and folders The samples (.KSF) stands in these folders.
So you must have all these things.
2. When saving sounds, you can't save a single sound but you can select one bank (like I-a or U-BB).
3. A PCG files contains Program, combination, drum kit, wave sequence,
global settings.
See Paramaters Guide, page 827 to learn about all extension files.

Hi Liviou.
I know that the KSC has only information text (index) about the samples location on Kronos, but, my KSC has much more information than necessary and I don't know what is happening.
I would like to create a KSC file only with the necessary information about a single program, and I cound't do that.
Thanks
Mark

Danatkorg posted a preview relating to this subject a while ago (see second link). It is now incorporated in the Operations Guide, page 171, in the section entitled "Creating combined or stripped-down KSCs".

Perhaps you can report here what informations you find in your files. It would be easier for us to appreciate your problem.pianogospel wrote:Hi Liviou.

Yo can unload the KSC files, import your sample(s) and create a unique KSC file containing only your sample.
You can then use PCG Tools to strip out everything but the Program/Combi/Setlist/etc. data you want to include.
Here are the contents of one of my KSC files I created in such a manner:
As you can see, the only entries in the KSC are specific to the UUID values for my samples.
