What is the use of checking every minute? Given what we know about korg engineering, I would check their website once a week or maybe a fortnight.valimaties wrote: βThu Apr 17, 2025 3:46 pm While I'm waiting for the next update and I have a Home Assistant for my electrical stuff and other things, I created a script that checks the Korg update page every minute for the next update. This job will also notify on my phone when the new update is released. I think I have too much free time

I think you check once a year to have a tiny chance of seeing a new post from Korg

Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
Obviously, the Pa5x was not very profitable for Korg and so what can you expect.

I have no problem setting the automation to check on what period I want, I said, it was only a test to see how it works

I've extended it, as long as I have also the Genos2

Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
They will need to present it again on January 20-24 2026 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, United States.
Directly from Namm 2026
Let's agree on which one of us will go and record the presentation directly from the Korg booth.
Sorry for this irony, I don't want to offend any of us already lied to and damaged.

We are in May, already 4+ months since the demo of 1.4.0 and still no sign of the update.
Hey Korg if you need help with coding or debugging the SW please take my help, I'm a SW engineer with 28 years of experience making embedded software for automotive industry. Also if you want help to fix the LED black spot issue due to incorrect light guide, please contact me, I have a team of experts who can help fix the issue, from optics, mold design, packaging etc.

As usual when we see such "inside information from reliable sources"

It's not long before it's X-Mas again, so maybe v.4.x pop up when St.Claus open his sack?

Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
Only few people here will understand what software development entails. Even if you set an approximate release date, there is always going to be few last minute changes. Beta testers will find some weird bug, that happens only if you perform certain routine. And all this happens just before release date. So relax and enjoy your keyboard. And to be honest for the majority of users in the current state pa5x performs just fine. Once you start going into deep editing, you'll bump into few problems.

Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
Well, I do have some experience in that field. In my opinion it is embarrassing what Korg has done so far with the Pa5X OS. Whoever is responsible for the OS/Software Specifications has in my opinion at least no professional experience in these type of instruments. Starting with how the menues and navigation are designed.
If you play it only at home, the Pa5X is probably the best arranger keyboard you can buy right now. But for professionals a lot of features are missing and the potential is not realized even close so far.
It is such a good keyboard but causes a lot of frustration at the same time...
A lot of musicians I know sold their Pa5X long time ago already. Most of them and also the others, who kept their Pa5X, including me, will never buy a Korg product again. We were dissappointed so many times, not only since the Pa5X Release.
I also only partially agree with the rest of your statement. While 1.3.1 is the most stable release we have, it is still bugged and caused for me and others freezes in live situations.
Re: Where is Version 1.4 ?
Looks like 1.4 update shown at NAAM was to keep the folks engaged in the dream of update and stop shouting ill about Korg. The strategy worked well, except that we have lost faith in Korg engineering and promises.

I have over 30 years software development, I'm a certified project manager (PMP), and before I retired, ran a Project Management Office managing 35 project managers for Finance Risk for a major bank. I am also a Certified Scum Master in Scrum Agile methodologies.
I know a little something about software development and I can tell you something is going on at Korg that is NOT normal. I've said it before on this thread and I'll say it again; they should be using Agile methodologies to mange this product. They obviously have resource issues and may have financial issues. Taking this long to address major bugs and issues is considered a PRODUCT KILLER.
What I mean by that is; the momentum they realized during the initial release is long gone and potential customers have fled the product to other competitors because of acknowledgement of reliability issues. This compounds the financial issues since the product is not selling and costs are high, they cannot afford to allocate more resources to a failing product. And so here we are; a last gasp to try and revive the product one last time with what I consider to be a final release. They might as well call this release version 2.0; because IN THEORY, this release appears to be a MAJOR feature release. Going from a minor release 1.3.1 to 1.4 doesn't really reflect the scope of the changes forthcoming.

What the outcome will be, I love Korg products but I think this is my first and last arranger from this brand. Hardware LED issue still not fixed and the software issues still not fixed.
