Even better, why not give the tools inside the Kronos, to build your own EXs from a "Sample Manager", picking from different other EXs, or from your own sample?
Part of this is already there:
* KSCs (Korg Sample Collections) contain links to RAM and/or EXs sample data, including Multisamples, Samples, and Drum Samples. Loading a KSC file loads all of the linked sample data.
* At startup, the KRONOS can automatically load one or more KSC files.
* You can load individual Multisamples and/or Drum Samples from one or more EXs, and save the resulting group of samples as a KSC.

We understand that it's highly desirable for users to stream their own samples, and I appreciate everyone's comments on the issue.

But Korg is aware of the demand, and it should not be impossible techically.
Correct on all points!

BTW, interesting development related to user upgradable RAM. John Cooper who worked on the KRONOS and is in Korg's R&D department originally stated this on his website http://www.planetz.com/?p=917:
"Over 1GB onboard RAM, upgradeable for more- for loading samples or sampling your own sounds"
it now says:
"Over 1GB onboard RAM- for loading samples or sampling your own sounds"
If anyone would know, he would. I'm assuming that he was asked to remove it for who knows what reason. I believe if the information was incorrect, he'd have corrected himself on the statement, not changed it like it was never there.

to me....this statement has a nice grey area that makes me smile..... its coming folks,.... in due time!!!!!

also has anyone pushed the envelope to see of the kronos would recognize more than 4gb? I remembered motif xs was only supposed to be able to read 1gb, then some Guy tested 2gb and it worked....no one believed him for a very long time.... now everyone knows.

Even 4Gb will not be fully recognized due to the limitations of a 32 bit OS.

I believe it's something like 3.25 GB, but with the low prices every addition is welcome.
