I was wondering is SSD SATA 3 (high speed) and the 4Gb now supported by the operating system, or is it still SATA 2 and the 4Gb limited to 3Gb?

Regards

Not sure about the support for SATA3 - some users have reported success in the past with SATA 3.

The inability to use the full 4 GB of RAM is not an operating system limitation, rather it is a combination of a 4 GB limit on addressable memory and the use of memory-mapped IO for some devices.

The last item has been discussed in detail: 3 GB.

I have asked Sharp to upload the latest PCG Tools Manual.
It already supports 2.0.

However what might be of interest for you: it also contains a mini manual to connect your Kronos/Kronos X with help of a free FTP program to your computer. It actually is very simple but still I added several screen shots and steps to follow.

Besides using for samples, it also makes the use of PCG Tools even simpler as it is no longer needed to swap an USB stick back and forth your computer.

I hope it will be uploaded soon by Sharp.

Btw, I use a Sitecom LN-030 USB-LAN adapter and it works flawlessly.

Loaded and working :D

My 1.12Gb Sample library now loads into RAM @ 128Mb, no conversion needed, automatically loaded into virtual memory mode... Very happy with that :D

Time to fire up SampleRobot.

Interesting list of bug fixes here:

I hadn't even heard of some of these bugs. Well done Korg :)

Now there's only a short wait for the new Editor at the 'end of August'

Updated to OS 2.0.2 without any issues.
Like Qui I noticed that I have a little bit more RAM free now.
I went from 23MB to 66MB free.

I've also set the IP and FTP settings correctly (I don't use DHCP on my small home network).
Now I need to buy an ethernet adapter. :)

Worked very good! (but M3 OS 2.04 features still missing)

Post by Saxifraga »

Update was fast and no problem at all. Thank you Korg!

I still wonder if and when we get the sequencer features from the 2.04 M3 Update!? I really need that note based MIDI event and Piano Roll editor under the "Track Edit" tab. Anybody listening?

I'm usually one of the first to install a new OS release!

This time, however, I think I'm going to hold off until the end of the month because its a MAJOR release (1.xx to 2.xx). The new editor v2.xx won't be released until the end of the month anyway, so it makes sense to hold off and see how that goes.

In the meantime, 1.6x is working perfectly for me, so I think I'll keep it that way for a while. This way I can read about everyone's experiences and make an informed decision about upgrading later.

Process completed, everything Ok.

I'd like to highlight the new menu to control some samples functions through HD1 (pg 161 and 166 - Param Guide) ... I thing it very interesting for us.
