So, if in Europe you can buy over the internet without too many worries (other than the Euro exchange rate).

Re: Next batch next year?
...It kinda makes me a bit upset at Korg when I go to my local music store here in H-town Texas and see 4 61s in a box and 2 73's in a box just there when Musicians in other parts of the world would just love to get them and to top if off the 61 sells for $2350 us and the 73 for $2700 us..kinda not fair ....C'mon Korg ,We love ya but show some love in return equally ..michelkeijzers wrote:According to dwstore.com (Europe), the next delivery of Korg Kronos 73/88 is January 6, 2012 and for the Kronos 61 even March 3, 2012 ... that's almost half a year!
Another store owner said not to expect a Korg Kronos 61 this year so it seems the slow delivery will take on for more than half a year here in Europe while in the US stores state it is available directly.
I will refrain from 'conclusions' about this 'marketing strategy'.
What's the name of the store ? I can't seem to find any Kronos at that price level given its full warranty and new condition....It kinda makes me a bit upset at Korg when I go to my local music store here in H-town Texas and see 4 61s in a box and 2 73's in a box just there when Musicians in other parts of the world would just love to get them and to top if off the 61 sells for $2350 us and the 73 for $2700 us..kinda not fair ....C'mon Korg ,We love ya but show some love in return equally ..
Thanks lunaluna

Re: Next batch next year?
If they were more equally priced globally I would buy a new synth earlier. That's the reason last time I bought an M50 instead of an M3, knowing it would be a temporary solution. If the prices would be 30% lower like the rest of the world, I would have bought the M3 (and still the Kronos now) and probably would buy them normally faster (I bought the Extreme after 1 year after release so the price was down a bit more).lunaluna wrote:...It kinda makes me a bit upset at Korg when I go to my local music store here in H-town Texas and see 4 61s in a box and 2 73's in a box just there when Musicians in other parts of the world would just love to get them and to top if off the 61 sells for $2350 us and the 73 for $2700 us..kinda not fair ....C'mon Korg ,We love ya but show some love in return equally ..michelkeijzers wrote:According to dwstore.com (Europe), the next delivery of Korg Kronos 73/88 is January 6, 2012 and for the Kronos 61 even March 3, 2012 ... that's almost half a year!

Dan adressed why global pricing was not possible. 1 strong point is that each country has different laws.michelkeijzers wrote:If they were more equally priced globally I would buy a new synth earlier. Re: Next batch next year?
Well, part of it is that we have a sort of buy tax (don't know the English name), which is 19% but still not as much as the real difference.GregC wrote:Dan adressed why global pricing was not possible. 1 strong point is that each country has different laws.michelkeijzers wrote:If they were more equally priced globally I would buy a new synth earlier. The real reason is that there are import companies which cause a major overhead. Like another person that wants to earn some money for moving the boxes around.

Thanks a lot Yuma for this information. Laenen is my local musicstore but I didn't expect he had a Kronos. Played the Kronos 61 on wednesday. Gonna sell my Motif XS7 and Virus Snow on friday (I don't care about the Motif but the selling my Snow hurts) and if everything goes well, the Kronos is mine this saturday.Yuma wrote:At laenenmusic.nl they received a new batch today.
Thanks!!!

You're welcome, Harry. Laenen is my local store as well. They informed me by e-mail, but I already have a Kronos 61, which I bought in Roosendaal.
Glad you'll get yours coming Saturday.

Good for people still waiting that there are more 61s available now (at least in the netherlands).

Last week I went to a couple of leading pro-audio and music shops near London and was told I could be waiting months for a Kronos 88. I then sat on the phone, rang around suppliers in South East UK and found a shop with 2 in stock. I ordered it on Friday and had it delivered on Monday. It's really a question of being pro-active. Obviously in some countries it really will be impossible to do this

is VAT same as a tariff on imports ?EvilDragon wrote:Value Added Tax (VAT).michelkeijzers wrote:Well, part of it is that we have a sort of buy tax (don't know the English name)
US did away with all import tariffs during the 1980's.
I think all the Euro countries/gov't's still have them.
