Excellent thinking Sharp - that layout prompts us workstation owners to go down the entire forum towards workstations; giving a little impetus to see other categories and drop in on them. It widens our palette and awareness; and perhaps helps Korg's cause in that we're more aware of all of their instruments.

Its genuinely intriguing just how different, vibrant and exciting this different layout makes the entire forum feel. Brilliant job.

Yes, I think I mention this was going to happen in my first post above.

From the point of view of the work the moderators have to do on a daily basis, it will a very welcome update.

Sharp.
Hi Sharp, great news !

Next time I will read the post till the end, rsrs.

Using PPHBB3, another suggestion is to add bbcode to enable Youtube and Soundcloud inside messages. If you need, I can send you how we implement in our forum.

Paulo

Hi Paulo.

We have that already here, minus the "bbcode" part. People can just drop the embed html code straight into the forum. It is more secure though using the bbcode, so will switch to that when we go phpbb3.

Sharp.

After spending a few days here now since the forum format change I would say that overall this is working very well.

I'm still wondering if the Workstation section should be moved back to the top. I don't think it has caused any reduction in traffic being only a few clicks down. It's also a very large section and moving it back to the top I think defeats the purpose of going with a nice new flow.

So ... bottom line ... it looks likes it's organized well for now.

they are very good forums. I'd liked to have seen some sort of "expand/Collapse" type, so you could say click on "workstations" and have the expand facility when you click on it, and still have othe forums non expanded. Just my input. nothing really :D
KORG KRONOS 88-Korg D3200-Casio Privia PX-830BP-KAWAI RX-2 Grand Piano

You can do that.
Click on this link for example.

http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/index.php?c=5
Everything expect the Workstations should be collapsed.

To do this for any part of the forum you only need to click on the Category name.

Sharp.

Very good sharp! You seem to have everything covered. How do you find the time to fit it all in

I also like the new groups. And I'm glad there are no subtopic groups.

The Workstations section is way too low, it should be second, where it
actually was, Kronos is way too low.

I like category changes, but wish I could customize things for my browsing preferences and save the changes to my profile. Things such as changing the category order and minimizing categories that I have no desire to view.

I put in a vote for a forum software change to something with an Ignore function - as well as an integrated 'Report Post' function for spam posts. :)

Whose getting on your nerves?

I've been on the net since before most people had heard of it and I don't think I've ever put anyone on ignore yet with the exception of a few gold spammers in a few online games I play.

I agree with the Ignore ... however a button to notify a moderator for a spam post might be easy for the moderator to track spams ... however I have to say there are very less on KorgForums.
