Hard case for Kronos2 series?
Hi all. Normally I get custom cases made for my boards, but my usual vendor may not be able to meet my needs. Does anyone have a pointer to the best of the off-the-shelf stuff for a Kronos 2-88?
I know there are boat-sized ones, but I'm hoping for good protection and minimal exterior size. SKB's options look pretty big. Money is (relatively speaking compared to a custom case) no object.
Thanks

I am happy with my Thomann custom made Kronos case

The pvc saves weight, but the 88 i still a beast to carry to/from my car each week when I take it to our band rehearsal

That's pretty light at 11.6kg. My Gator case for the RD700 is over 14kg.AdDeRoo wrote:I am happy with my Thomann custom made Kronos case

Thanks - I didn't know Korg had one. That will be perfect if my custom shop doesn't work out.DaveKeys wrote:Have you thought of going for Korg's own Silver ABS custom case for the Kronos2? I have one for my Kronos2 61 and am very pleased with it.
It was a bit pricey but it's a one off cost and a perfect fit.

I have a similar case (also from Thomann) for my Korg Kronos 61 ... never had such a well-built case. The leather handle feels good since you don't get crushed fingers from plastic handles used by some others, and the metal connections and corners are very sturdy).DaveKeys wrote:That's pretty light at 11.6kg. Can those side handles be used by one person?AdDeRoo wrote:I am happy with my Thomann custom made Kronos case

I found a single central handle makes the job so much harder - and that is with my 73!

I'm happy with my SKB. I did add some extra padding behind the little plastic corners that are attached with Velcro. Also, very carefully removed a little of the eggshell foam where the row of knobs contact the lid.

Kronos2-61..(2) Triton Classic, Nautilus, Electro 6, Nord Stage 2, Previously owned lots of other gear dating back to the 70’s.
Yes, I carry it alone, using the single handle. If I need to walk with it more than 10 meters I prefer getting some help though....alanjpearson wrote:Can those side handles be used by one person?AdDeRoo wrote:I am happy with my Thomann custom made Kronos case

Do you know how heavy Korg's case is (for 88)?DaveKeys wrote:Have you thought of going for Korg's own Silver ABS custom case for the Kronos2? I have one for my Kronos2 61 and am very pleased with it.

Does anybody have a recommendation for a really protective hard case that is also light and doesn't kill my back and neck?

This is what I got for my K73 - the BIG advantage is it has two handles on the top which is much easier on your back than a single handle.
It weighs 12.5Kg.
They don't make them now so the only place I could find one (new) is EBay:

Just get a custom made road case with wheels on one end. There are a lot of case builders out there. I'm one.
