Saving patches on korg krome

Post by motherheads1 »

Hi all, i have just purchased a new korg krome 88 key for my band............ what i want to do is SAVE & RENAME new patches for the sets in the band

What i want to do is Save folders saying set 1,2 & 3 on my sd card, then put the songs in order that i use at the gig, but i have tried saving patches and renaming them but what happens is it changes the original patch name, i want to save my set folders without changing the factory presets

I hope this makes sense & i hope someone can help

thanks for reading

If I have understood, you want to save patches without changing the original program/combi..I save my patches in the "user" bank, writing my patch on a default program in that group

I'm being slightly pedantic here, but just for clarity's sake (who is Clarity, I hear you say) the Krome doesn't have patches, as such. It has Programs and Combis, and Programs cannot be saved in a Combi bank and vice versa.

Would a Cue List work for you? I edit my programs/combis, then put them into a sequencer song for each song on my set list, then finally set up a cue list with the running order in with my sequencer songs. That way I can just choose the next program/combi from the cue list easily from one page when I am playing live rather than having to search for them. I have a Cue List for each band/set I am playing with. Also means it doesn't matter where I save the programs/combi's.

What I used to do with a similar synth (Triton, M50), was:

- do not use programs; if you want to use a program, make a combi and assign a program to it.
- when you have all combis put them in the correct order
- make empty combis with e.g. 'SET 1', 'SET 2' etc to easily see when a set starts.

With PCG Tools, you can make this workflow much easier.
