Korg Triton Extreme Blank screen after powering up?

Post by ross116 »

I'm hoping someone on here will know about this one.

I recently replaced the calendar battery on my Extreme and powered up. It worked fine. I powered off and ten minutes later switched it back on.

This is where the problem began. The screen came on and stayed illuminated but Extreme would not boot up! I.E no LEDs, sound..and nothing on the screen! It just stayed illuminated. I then tried initialising from power up but this didn't work either.

I really don't want to send it to Korg. Has anyone encountered this problem and is there a fix??

Thanks in advance.

Mostly it is the other way around: screen stays black but synth works fine and screen comes up a bit later (or in rare occasions much later).

Did you try removing the battery (including plugging out the power cord)?

Yes. Tried that. Still nothing.

Only a brightly illuminated blank screen ( and yes I have tried the contrast control ).

At least I know it's not completely dead. It just doesn't seem to be able to boot up.
