Editing & Saving on a Korg Triton Pro X

Post by JPee00 »

Sorry guys, I'm extremely new at this.

1) I was wondering if there is a way to save to another device other than just the internal floppy drive. Possibly USB?

2) Also, is there a way I can send audio to my PC for editing? What would I need to do that?

Thanks a ton. these forums have been awesome.[/list]

Classic doesn't support usb or flash storage, studio added HD and CD-write saves, extreme added usb and flash.

You can save most files via midi, but with the classic I mostly saved to floppy disk -- specifically I did as much editing and selection of voices in my PC as possible, then saved my work in a .pcg file that I saved on a floppy, then transferred to my triton. That process is a little bit time consuming, but it works.

If you haven't done so yet -- look for a copy of TritonLib or LeLibby to help you organize and manage voices on your computer. And if you don't have a floppy drive, usb peripheral floppy drive is ~$25 from office depot or bestbuy.

You also could check PCG Tools (see link in my signature).

USB is not possible but some people modified their Triton to use CF cards. There's a website for this, but it's a bit expensive I think since you need the SCSI board, the CF reader, and the kit to install it. One thing specific to SCSI is that if you remove your CF, it can't be recognized when you put it back ; you need to switch the synth off and on with the card in. Now if you buy the SCSI for big files (sampler), you can save onto HD or better (because silent) ZIPs, and ZIPs can be removed like floppy drives.

That said, you can also make a Dump Sysex to send much information to a computer through midi port, but that can be quite long.

You have also Triton Edit Pro to control pretty all your synth (except sampler) from a computer.

Hope it helps !
