Transfer Korg Triton Extreme pcg files to Kronos?

Post by rravenscraft »

Just got my new Kronos 88- a really sweet keyboard. Starting to program it now. I've got lots of combinations I've created over the years in my old Korg Triton Extreme that I would like to transfer to the Kronos- gonna take a lot of time to manually re-program each one of them. The Kronos doesn't recognize the .pcg files from the Triton, so I can't open them and simply load them. Does anyone know if there is a way to transfer the combinations from the Triton Extreme to the Kronos? Has someone created any software that translates them? Thanks

It's not possible to load them, and the main reason is that the Triton and Kronos have two different sound engines. There is no software available, because it is very difficult to do this conversion. It's not only converting parameters, but also a different sample set.

Cynkh is busy with some conversions but AFAIK not from Triton to Kronos. Also my app PCG Tools is NOT a conversion tool.

Yeah, the parameter mapping and also the way the different PCG files check their own integrity is much different from Triton to Kronos. As Michel mentioned I'm working on a program to basically convert from Triton (and others) to Kronos. I've got another thread open about this but I'll be happy to provide updates here as well.

Cheers!
