Make sure to start the Kronos first, until it's ready to play (setlist shows up).
Then start your sequencer on your DAW.

if you start your sequencer sooner, then it won't see the Kronos.

After starting your Kronos, check your device manager in Windows.
Let me know if you see the Kronos driver there.

Ok, so the driver is installed properly.
Now we move on to Cubase.

First go to Devices -> MIDI Device Manager and set it up like below:

Next go to Devices -> VST Connections and set it up like below:

And last, go to Devices -> Device Setup...

I am also having the same issue with Cubase 5. The audio side of things is fine, using ASIO4All BTW, much faster than DirectX, but for midi, I can see the driver in device manager but nothing in Cubase.

As for setting it up in midi device manager in Cubase, this needs a midi port to map to, but there is nothing but the Microsoft soft synth in the list.

Yes...me too...there is no Kronos MIDI port in my Cubase, can't create a new one.

Hmmm, I have no clue why it doesn't show up in your MIDI Device Manager. Maybe re-install Cubase?
I use Cubase 5 and have no issues at all as you can see in the screenshots I posted.

Can't make it work in Cubase eighter. I also get an error message when installing the driver. Internal error 2753. k_coinst.exe.
The usb-midi driver is showing up double in the (add/remove-)program list. One of them can't be removed.

Let us know if re-installing helped to fix it. Good luck. :)

Same Problem here. Any solution

Post by ThomasLemmer »

Hi all,

I have exactly the same problem.
Driver is showing up in Device Manager in Windows 8.1.
But in Cubase Pro 8 the KORG KRONOS doeesn't appear.

Anyone who has a solution?

I did all the above, but nothing helped.

Also I have no issues installing the latest KORG Midi driver.

Thanks in advance,
Thomas

Possible solution

Post by ThomasLemmer »

Hi guys,

just found this in another forum:

***SOLVED***
Just wanted to close the loop on this one - in case someone may have the same issues.

Apparently Windows can only recognize 10 MIDI ports. Mine were all used up, not sure on what though lol. So the fix is to delete the MIDI ports in regedit (at your own risk) and reinstall the drivers

Solution

Post by ThomasLemmer »

The solution is to use the KORG MIDI DRIVER UNINSTALLATION tool.
With this tool, you can easily remove unused Midi ports.
Afterwards, KRONOS shows up in Cubase again and everything is working fine.
