Korg M50 Limited Editon Problem HELP Please

Post by AtheosX »

Hello i just recently got a Korg M50 Limited edition Used from Guitar center. It worked Fine out of the box but i kept noticing the sound would go in and out. I though it was just my amplifier which is a Behringer 90 watt H900fx which has given me problems int he past. but i brought in another amp and the same problem exists. Now every time i Plug in a 1/4 plug into the output jack i get a loud pop and buzzing. I think i might have fried the Output jack or the Output section of the workstation was faulty to begin with. could some one on here help me figure out what is wrong and or refer me to some one who could repair or better assist me.
Thanks and happy holidays

Hopefully it is not, but it sounds like the same problem I had with my "new" M50. About a month after I got it the output went out. I let it rest a few hours and came back and it was ok. Then again about a month later it went out again, and did not come back. This included the Right/Left and headphone jack totally dead. So, now it is in the "Korg Authorized" repair shop where hopefully it will get fixed. The quality of my recent Korg M50 keyboard is nowhere near the 19+ good years I've gotten from my previous Korg i3, sadly.

I have used my M50 for several years, also while gigging and never had problems.

The only way to know for sure is to play it. It is so much fun to do that I do not think you are going to have a problem doing that.. :D
I am glad you got it all worked out.

Post by AtheosX »

Well I guess i spoke to soon.... The problems back and I haven't been able to get it to work for 2 weeks.... If anybody knows what causes this please let me know... I would go to a "Korg repair specialist" but i am sure i could fix it by my self if i knew which component it was specifically,

What happens when you only use the R output? What happens when you use both the L/MONO and R outputs? (you need a way to hear the output separately - don't use a Y adapter on outputs) Do headphones work in the phones jack?
