Video tutorial: 04 Sampling Omnisphere in the Kronos Sampler
I've got multiple requests if i could do a tutorial about how to use the Sampler.
This tutorial explains how to use the Kronos Sampler to transfer a sound from Omnisphere to the Kronos. It also explains how to program the HD1 to use that sound.
The following topics are explained:
- Creating Wav files from a sound in Omnisphere (how to sample the notes)
- Importing the Wav files in the sample library on the Kronos
- Modifying the Samples Loop-points
- Creating a Program in the HD1 module based on your own created samples
- Using Kronos FX to spice up the sound.
The first part in the video shows how to sample the omnisphere program.
The second part in the video shows how to create that program on the Kronos.
you can find the tutorial here:

(switch to 1080P, so you can better read the captured screens)
I hope you like it.
Next tutorial will be about creating sidechained Pads to get that modern dance pad sound.
For reference purposes, here are the other 3 tutorials

Thank you very much for another video.
To be honest, I'm not going to watch it right now, but the video is timed perfectly, since I never have tried to do something with samples really but next week I will so I will use this video as 'test' to see how easy it will (btw, I get a sample as MP3 or wav but I guess I can use at least part of the video).
Thanks again!

Very nice, straightforward explanation.
The good thing about these overviews is: once you have seen the whole process with it's steps in such a video, the single steps are much more easy to understand in that context. So it takes away the user fear of running into something possibly too complicated.
One thing would be great: after seeing the video and understaning the content, to have the text as separate text file, and use it as reminder, when doing the same thing next time. If that won't take too much of your time, it would be great to be able to download the pure text as well.
These videos are absolutely helpful stuff for the Kronos community, thank you very much!

As an advice i wouldnt really recomend Sampling Omnisphere into Kronos
Sampler, there is no reason for that. If one has Omnisphere that also means
he has a good computer. Why make your life harder, just Sample in the
Computer, fix everything in there and then just import to Kronos, instead of
killing your self and eyes on the Kronos's Display and ancient Sampler.
Its way easier to do it on the computer then just import everything ready.
Good tutorial overall.

true, but that wasn't what i was trying to show. Omnisphere is just an example, it could also be massive, FM8, Zebra or whatever vsti or a sample from a downloaded or bought library that you want to use.BasariStudios wrote:As an advice i wouldnt really recomend Sampling Omnisphere into Kronos

Not everyone has a computer / studio setup like you and me. And what i was trying to show is how easy it is to expand the Sample library on your kronos on a basic level.
I don't agree that you be better off by using omnisphere alone on the computer. This is just a starting point in the kronos. When you have the basic sample in there you could add a second oscillator to add a different flavour to the sound. Also you could use Vector automation, LFO'd Filters and much more to create those unique programs that you instantly have access to when you use the kronos. Then the best step will be to use those custom programs in a Combi to create up to 16 timbres in one combi.
The only limit is your creativity. These tutorials are just showing the basics without the complex features. I strongly believe that once you know the basics you will find the more complex things much easier to understand.
But you are absolutely right, when you only use a computer then it's much easier to make sampled tracks with Native Instruments Kontakt and omnisphere and other vsti's. But that's not why we bought a kronos

I dont dissagree with you i am just saying, even the most powerfull Sampling
can still be done with a basic computer setup...and if one runs Omnisphere
that means he already has a computer and some plugins...then he can do
all the Sampling on computer and then import to Kronos...but the good thing
about this tutorial is that one can apply the same Method to Sampling from
hardware synths too or from anything.

Our sincere thanks to Qrobinez
Let me begin by saying,...
Qrobinez, your charitable efforts and support for the Korg Kronos
and for that matter the community is very much appreciated and needed!
In fact, I believe your contribution is one of many unique assets to this community.
Please accept our deepest thanks for taking out of your personal time and effort to support the Korg community which you are a very special part of.
Thanks again for all your support!!!
P.S. Love the videos and especially the 1080p addition.
Course I haven't even scratched the surface of your knowledge and know how,
but maybe someday with the assistance of these videos
