Prog rock

Post by jeremykeys »

This one has been a work in progress for quite some time. It still needs vocals but I'm having trouble with that. Eventually I'll have some that work for me. Lot's of time signature changes and mood changes.
Hope you all like it even ir you can't dance to it unless you have several feet!

Good work, Jeremykeys! I totally love this kind of music!
Was this produced with just the Kronos ? Or did you use a guitar for those leads ?

I like it. Can't wait to hear it with vocals on top. Have you written the lyrics yet?

Good one! How did you do the drums? Definitely D.T. and Genesis tones, also Yes, methinks. As far as modern prog goes, can't wait for the next Frost album from Jem Godfrey. "Milliontown" is still one of the best prog efforts from the past twenty-odd years.

Great work. I can hear a Jon Anderson type voice singing about "apocalyptical eddies of nothingness in a whirlpool of wonderness, exorcised through the eye of a blue whale's realm of existencialised comprehension eclipsing the parallel interspace of mind and pizza."

Does it need to rhyme?

Reinterpretation is the powerhouse that drives the soul of the musical heart (so... That's a "yes")

Jeremykeys
good job on the sounds/performance

is the first part 0:00 - 1:07 the verse ?
I notice you returned to it at 5:28.

The part after , starting at 1:15 sounds like a bridge for your guitar solo .

From 3:17 to 4:48 sounds like a close lift of an early Genesis song. I am not sure if this should be the ' center ' of your tune.

Anyway, a James LaBrie type vocal would fit in 0:00 to 1:07 if that is your verse.

Very convincing ... and I know this kind of music is mostly quite hard to do with synths alone.

Thanks for sharing this great song.
