Cleaning the control surface
The manual says "Clean with dry cloth".
Somehow I don't feel this will do a proper job. Surely there must be a better way.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks

I guess common sense works best.
You can use a moistured cloth as long as you take care the moisture will not enter the Kronos ... and no acid or harsh cleaning liquids because it can destroy the plastic or the texts.

I haven't felt the need to clean the touch screen yet, but I do have a dog who sheds, so I get a bit of dog hair from time to time. The paint brush is a good idea, but I haven't bought one yet. For now I will take my shop vacuum and very carefully run it over the Kronos to such up all the dust and hair.
I use a Swifter Duster for all my Keyboards. And a dry cloth for eye glasses for the screens.

I use Zeiss wipes for eyeglasses from Wally-world. Clean the screen great.
They sell to 50pks at WW, but you'll probably burn through those quick since they are great for everything else.

I also use a barely damp paper towel with a tiny bit of Pledge electronic cleaner sprayed on it to remove dirt and fingerprints, then I go over it with a microfiber cloth to dust (from an auto-parts store - the same kind you use to remove water spots from a freshly washed car).
This takes care of dust, smudges on the chassis, and fingerprints on the screen just fine.

Thanks man! That's exactly what I was looking for. I'd rather not risk ruining the finish making experiments.jeebustrain wrote:I also use a barely damp paper towel with a tiny bit of Pledge electronic cleaner sprayed on it to remove dirt and fingerprints, then I go over it with a microfiber cloth to dust (from an auto-parts store - the same kind you use to remove water spots from a freshly washed car).

I'll look for that.
I'm telling ya, the Zeiss wipes work great, lol. They are just moist with alcohol (i think, says ammonia-free), not wet, and its like a fine paper. Makes it squeaky clean. I've probably cleaned the screen like 20 times now with them. No I'll effects. Its made for eyeglasses, laptop screens, cell phone screens, camera lenses etc. They come in little wet-nap style packages.

Oh, ok. I guess I didnt read thoroughly. Sometimes I use Formula 409 sprayed lightly on a rag and use a fingertip in the rag to get in the nooks and crannys. Seems to get the stubborn stuff.Dniss wrote:Thanks for the info navydave.
The screen itself wasn't a problem for me, I have similar products at home.
I was looking at deep cleaning the control surface itself. .
Nevetheless, I'm sure your info will help others.

This is the sh*t:
iKlear
https://www.klearscreen.com/
It's been advertised for years as the cleaner for Apple gear, but it does way more than that. I use it on everything. LCD screens, the control surfaces of my OASYS, Kronos, M3, etc. It's totally safe and I highly recommend it. SHAM-WOW!
