Korg, take a lesson!
Here is a thread about a different way (human) to deal with your clients when you have a delayed product. The company is Fractal audio, and about the delayed release on their Editor.
http://forum.fractalaudio.com/axe-edit- ... hread.html
For those of you that have no patience to read the thread, they explain that they ARE working on the problems, and give a large explanation WHY, and promise a GOOD WORKING product. Even if it takes them 6 months, I KNOW that they are doing everything possible to have the best product, so I WILL wait!

Korg is like that... except few enthusiastic persons like Dan, Kay (3rd party developer), no one shares or disclose issues openly or announcements are kept like underground business...
Dont expect some one from Korg to read this thread or read your link and respond honestly....
PS: All synth companies (incl R**, A**...) practice the same mafia way....

Korg is not allowed to provide commercial information here, and release dates is part of it.
Also, KOrg Japan and USA are different and have rules for information here.
We should be lucky that several Korg employees provide useful information here.

Please give Korg your thoughts, questions and concerns. To do that, contact customer support. This forum is a users group of folks who help each other. It is not official support and it does not directly provide feedback to Korg.

What is your reason to imply that by not sharing the info with public KORG is not doing everything possible to have the best product so you will not wait?marianghioda wrote:

Re: Korg, take a lesson!
Of course Korg isn’t doing their best about this, the proof is that they have numerous other great products, but they failed in this case.Shakil wrote:What is your reason to imply that by not sharing the info with public KORG is not doing everything possible to have the best product so you will not wait?marianghioda wrote:

I'm not implying - I am stating (proven fact, read the reviews about the editors) that the editors (now both versions) are crap, they were late beyond reason, and there was no explanation of any reason why (official on Korg site or at least some unofficial info here on forum).
If I come across like I am criticizing Korg about this, then yes I am, I wasted lots of time waiting for this, without any reasonable explanation (again, official or not) from Korg.
I also own a Fractal Audio product and on their forum I came across this similar problem they had about their editor and I thought that they did a good job of it and I wanted to share with Korg.
Korg does business old school, before the internet, but need to get with the times. This "secrecy" crap might have worked up until the '90 but now, people are more educated and informed and they need to be kept up to date when you promise them something. There are things that you NEED to be kept secret but here wasn’t the case.
And the fact that some of the people that work for Korg that come on this forum can’t give ANY information is CRAP. The way I see it, if they use this forum (like it or not, this forum IS a product launching platform) then they should man up and deal with issues too (or not let a simple thing like this to become an issue). Have some balls and tell your superiors (or partners) what “the peasants” are complaining about. This is a general problem in today’s society, everybody sits quietly doing their jobs, covering their own ass as much as they can.
In a way by being silent (even though they saw this issue escalating), they let their own corporation down.
Maybe I am too opinionated about this issue, but it goes both ways, I can't help myself from spreading my joy about the Kronos, how good it sounds and how revolutionary the technology incorporates.
My critics are real, meant to be constructive, that’s why I tilted it “take a lesson” not “you suck”.
Bottom line yes, Korg take a lesson!
Your blanket negative generalizations don't help much, and frankly, the title of your thread reads like arrogant "crap", even if not intended.
- "Korg does business old school, before the internet"?
Korg's communication about delays could become much better, but else I think Dan and Rich and others from the Korg team are often present in a non-defensive, helpful way. This communication is miles ahead of the dumb autistic behavior I experienced with one or two other music companies.
"I am stating (proven fact, read the reviews about the editors) that the editors (now both versions) are crap"
This statement is over the top again. While I have deleted the first version of the editor after a short test, the second version works well with basic tasks here, and I will keep it and use it, despite it's shortcomings. So you can certainly not speak for me, and not for others as well. So you can't seriously call your judgement "proven facts". It's just one variation of the opinions discussed here.
"like it or not, this forum IS a product launching platform"
Again completely out of proportion. This forum is an incredibly valuable resource for Kronos users, and ten times more than just a "product launching platform" for Korg. Of course a well running support forum helps Korg as well, but it is demagogic from my view to change proportions into the opposite.
Bottom line: I know some people who would profit from lessons. I would like music lessons, and I would recommend lessons in fair forum communication sometimes.

Re: Korg, take a lesson!
The post above makes some very incorrect and insulting assumptions about both my personal character and my work. Why on earth someone would make those assumptions, I have no idea. Productive communication requires mutual respect; without that, there's really nothing more to say.marianghioda wrote: And the fact that some of the people that work for Korg that come on this forum can’t give ANY information is CRAP. That is out of order - no matter your strength of feeling. And for the record, this forum is in NO way a 'product launching' platform. It is a user-based community that has the incredible benefit of input from Korg employees.marianghioda wrote:And the fact that some of the people that work for Korg that come on this forum can’t give ANY information is CRAP. I've had direct contact with Danatkorg and there is nothing I recognise of him in your accusations. Yes, I have disagreed with Danatkorg at times (openly) so I am not leaping to his defence for the sake of it, but his dedication to the products, and for people to get the most out of them, is second to none and as such deserves huge respect.
He doesn't deserve these types of comments and should receive an apology forthwith.
@Danatkorg - as is similarly written in text on DVDs; the post made by marianghioda does not reflect the opinions of the korgforum community!

I once had some personal contact with Dan Phillips via email and he was extremely patient and helpful!
He really cared about me and my OASYS and it's outstanding and totally unusual to experience such a personal customer service from somebody in such a high corporate position, whith such a high competence, skill and talent.
I am a happy owner of two OASYS-88, which says everything...

If Dan would not have helped me a lot and given the possbility for directly contacting other Korg employees, PCG Tools would not have been developed as far as it is in its current state.
Both Dan, Rich, Steve and several others really have spent hours to support me directly and indirectly everyone by providing all those information.
Besides that, they have spend numerous hours answering questions, providing additional information, redirecting people to the correct parts of the manual or Korg departments.
