Do you save the program/combi after changing?

Does the TR-Rack use a CR2032 battery? If so, it may need replacing if it has run out. The battery is used to keep various user data in memory when the unit is powered down.

Are you sure? My Triton Extreme has a battery that has empty for years now and the only thing I noticed is that the date/time is incorrect.

It was just a thought, given the age of Trinity hardware thesedays. Nothing else comes to mind.

On my Trinity, the date/time has to be set manually and doesn't advance. The battery isn't used to keep it clocked, but to retain patch data when powered down. It may be different on the Triton.

Is this a Trinity TR-Rack, or a Triton Rack?
Trinity TR-Rack does not have a battery, it stores everything in flash memory. So, if the unit keeps on going back to the same (but sensible) settings after power-up, it means that you have not saved your work, or the save was not successful (for whatever reason - to be investigated). If it resets to some garbled settings, then most likely you have a problem with the flash-ROM chip (which I doubt would be the case, because with a failed flash-ROM the TR-Rack would probably never start, at all).

It could be as simple as "memory protect" needs to be set to OFF.

You have to turn the protection off (under Global menu) in order to be able to overwrite.

Then turning it back on will protect the new settings so that you will be able to recall them as needed.

Generally speaking, I keep all my Korgs in "protect off" mode so that they can be tweaked and adjusted and so that new work saving is allowed -- otherwise every powerdown will lose those adjustments and every power up will bring back the factory (or last user) settings.
