User Banks and storing favorites

Post by Deadkeys »

So yes Im a newbie as I just scored the board a week ago...but others have wished for favorites or locations to store sounds or favorite sounds and combs's.

After spending two hour copying all my favorites to empty positions the user banks...I then stupidly loaded the Best of Triton or the Killer Prog pak PCGs and all my favorites got erased...

Banks ABCD are for programs
F & D combies...
Does this mean I have to then select one program at a time to load from the media card each time I want to use the new sounds?
I with there was a bank I could write to that new stuff wouldn't write over.

Should I write all my favorites to these USER positions and then save TO the media card? how can I store favorites from all banks to easy to get to positions but also load new banks with out overwriting so I can ad THOSE sounds to my favorites......Hope this makes sense ?

Thanks again in advance

I cannot remember by head how many program banks and combi banks there are but some general tips:
- In each program bank you can store 128 programs, in each combi bank 128 combis.
- one combi is made upto 16 programs (or 8 on some other Korg synths)
- If you change a program, combis using the sound o fcourse for that combi will change too
- If you save a file to a media card, mostly it's better to save EVERYTHING (save all), this will save the programs, combi, global and a bit more.
- Maybe it would be useful to check PCG Tools, it's a free Windows application, see the link in my signature below. Also read the manual or at least the part where PCG files are explained, even when not using PCG Tools.
