Hy there!
The biggest problem is that when we play on a stage, the time beetwen two songs is approximately 10 sec., and that is no good...
When we stop playing one song I have to find and select the next one on solton ketron midjay ( we used it to play backing matrix, .wav files ), then i have to select setup on Solton ketron SD1+(upper keyboard), and on the and, select appropriate combination on korg.
My question is: How to reduce the time between two songs, live, on a stage ?
Is it possible to connect those two keyboards with midi cable, so that SD1+ can control 01/W ( how to connect them then ) in a way that if I press ''20'' (using numeric bottuns) on SD1+, the settings for another song automatically change on both keyboards?
Thank you! |

I'm not sure about those two specific keyboards, but I'm sure that if you make sure a combi is on the same location on both synths, and pressing a combi or program on one synth, it will get send to the other too.
Also what I do is keeping all combis from a set list in order, so I only have to go up ... what you can also do is using a footswitch, so then it only takes one footswitch step to go to the next combi for both synths. _________________

..we play songs random, depends on audience...
I have to get in to it, if I want to make things work...but to be avare of a fact that is possible makes me for getting new information even more.
If anyone knows how to connect them via midi ?
Thank you! |

What I did in such cases was to set up all combis in alphabetical order and on the written set list the numbers to those combis.
And connecting: using a midi cable and changen combi numbers and see what happens on the on the other synth. _________________

I want my upper keyboard (Solton ketron SD1+) to be master keyboard so that I can control KORG.....
Where do I have to put midi cable in that case?
SD1+ MIDI IN and to MIDI OUT on KORG or something else? |

Depends where the sounds come from ... If the sounds come from the Korg, you need to connect a cable from Soltron MIDI Out to Korg MIDI in ... but why don't you just try both? (midi in->midi out from/to both synths) and familiarize yourself how midi cabling works? _________________

Ok then!
I'll try to connect them with two MIDI cables. Do I have to make some kind off setup or something...because I was reading about some ''chanel's...to set something in a global mode on KORG...
It seems to me so difficult? |

Set one of the synths (best is Korg if t he sound comes from that synth) to MIDI channel 1, and the other on 2.
When using combis, you can select MIDI channel 2 for the sounds played by the Ketron. _________________

I have just one MIDI cable at this particular moment.
I'll buy tomorrow the second one and try to connect the synths and see what's happening!
Now, when I read this again I get the point....
But, what I want, just for now, is TO CHANGE prog/combic/registration on both keyboard AT ONCE...not to hit keys on one synth and hear the sound of second one (firs and second together, piano on first, strings on second and to hear both sounds although playing just one syinth....I believe there is a lots of combinations)! |

In that case you only need one MIDI cable, from the keyboard you play at use the OUT connector and connect to the IN of the other.
Also in this case set both synths to the same MIDI channel (probably 1).
However, the only combinations you can make is e.g. when you select program A001 on the synth you play at, it will also select the first program on the other and so on (same with combis). _________________

I set both synths to global channel 01....and......we almost hit the goal...
When I press ''21'' on SD1+ I get ''20'' on KORG! |

Maybe I figure why!
SD1+ has registrations (combis/prog) from 001 to 198 and KORG has them from A00-A99 and B00-B99! |

Do you think that Solton MIDJAY could be connected to both keyboards so when I find next song and when I select it, COMBI/PROG get changed on both synths? |

I also don't know MIDJAY.
Probably the mapping is as you say (from 001-18 to A00..B99) ... just check it. _________________
