Kronos 61 and Sound just cuts off
This has happened to me about ten times so far - (does not matter if it is a combi or a program), the sound will just cut off (even when playing single notes with a piano patch, so can't be upper polyphony limits). Thought it might be the USB MIDI driver/connection to my MacPro, but I have since disconnected that cable (no MIDI connections at all) and it still has the issue. To fix the issue, I have to select another program/combi and I will have sound again from the Kronos. BTW, using the OS 1.5.
Thanks,
J.

I thought there was an issue with it (wrong cabling like mono cable iso stereo cable?).
I never noticed cutout notes (except for polyphony after playing a lot of fast notes just to see it could cutout). Never happened to me in a normal situation.

Something similar happened to me when I turned Karma
and drum track on and off globally during the same session.
I had to reboot back to my saved settings that had Karma
and drum track off and everything was fine.
It was like plugging a drum machine midi out in to a synth
Bizarre behavior like notes playing to drum rhythms, filter
cutoff being modulated to drum rhythms and notes stopping.
As if the drum machine midi out was set to your global channel.

I would just restore the OS, if that doesnt resolve the issue return it and exchange.

If any of this included a DAW, you do know that midi can do a lot of wacky things if it's receiving or sending where it shouldn't.Hooch wrote:Something similar happened to me when I turned Karma

It very easily could have just temporarily glitched the OS..

Lou,
You are right on.
And...
The DAW could be the Kronos itself.
Karma especially (It is a midi event generator at it's heart)and drum track use midi.
It's like everybody playing the same drum at the same time if channels aren't assigned correctly.
And you have to understand Karma to get it correct.
It's running on a lot of default combi's/patches and you have to know how to remove it/turn it off.
Go to global and uncheck the radar boxes for Karma and drum track.
Save global.
Turn it off.
Turn it on.
Hopr that helps.

If doing the above works for you then good, but if you properly set up your DAW to handshake with Kronos then you don't have to turn everything off.
It's much nicer having all of Kronos functionality and your DAW at the same time.. What DAW are you using?
