well then one of them will come to indonesia i think... If you had the confirmation please tell me ok....KevinH wrote:Sweetwater is getting a new batch of Kronos 88's from Korg the first week of April. One of them will be mine! They will be installing some RAM for me, so I'm having them confirm if it's a new keybed. I'll report back with the serial number and details once I have it.
Hey guys i have a question about the orchestral sounds on the kronos (strings especeially, woodwinds, etc)... Was it really bad??? I've heard several people complaining about it, and those complain sounds very convincing... I mean, i love the pianos, but piano+string is a layer that i've always used and is essential to my performance....
Just got off the phone with my sales rep at Sweetwater. He informed me that Korg is now shipping the new keybeds and that mine would definitely have the new one. I won't receive it until the second week of April. So, I'll post more info then. Looks like there may be some light at the end of the tunnel.
Hey guys i have a question... on my performance i usually use pads that were built in the keyboard to trigger some sounds (maybe some sparkles or cymbals and arpeggios). The problem on kronos is, they don't have any pads (well i've heard that the screen could be used as a touch pad, but doesn't work for me, they still don't have real pad)... Can i use something to trick this problem? those pads are handy u know... Thanks before!
I would say that OASYS in many ways still is Michiel! Considering that Yamaha and Roland are still tenaciously adhering to ROMpler-land, OASYS and by default KRONOS are galaxies ahead of Yamaha and Roland. What DOES intrigue me however is what Kurzweil might have its collective sleeve. The K2000 was ahead of its time and at least IMHO, the PC3XX series are profoundly powerful instruments. IF any of the other Big Three can threaten Kronos or at least provide a viable alternative, I would bet my last € on Kurzweil. But, it could be a long wait as Kurzweil has a big auto manufacturer with loads of money but unfortunately a small number of engineers. EvilDragon seems to know something the rest of we Kurzweil owners do not however. Perhaps I should make a trip to Croatia and make him listen to Barry Manilow music until he breaks down and gives the secret info.michelkeijzers wrote:I agree ... and the Oasys was ahead of its time.defeofiuza wrote:I mean, Kronos is the M1 of the 21st Century!
BTW Michiel, if you are still looking for proofreaders for your manuscript please let me know? I have a Master's degree in English and I have extensive editing experience. I would be honored to help.

Current gear: Kronos, Jupiter 80, Kurzweil PC3,Roland Fantom X8, Roland XV-88 (yep, its old, but the ACTION is heaven and those XV-3080 sounds are still wonderful for me), Radias-R, Motif ES (yeah it's older but I love the guitars
)

Yes I agree, to you ... even (take its age), the Oasys still is more advanced than most (any) other brand workstation.Vlad_77 wrote:I would say that OASYS in many ways still is Michiel! Thanks for offering to proofread ... I will add you to the list in the dedicated thread about it. I hope to have some version in 2 weeks from now.

You can connect a nanoPAD2 to the Kronos via USB and their pads automatical map to the ones on the touch screen. I purchased one with my Kronos and I'm waiting for them to get shipped. I believe that you need to have OS 1.5 installed for it to work.1jordyzzz wrote:Hey guys i have a question... on my performance i usually use pads that were built in the keyboard to trigger some sounds (maybe some sparkles or cymbals and arpeggios). my local guitar center started carrying them after this most recent NAMM show, ive been looking to play one for months now and its finally there. I really liked what i felt and heard i didnt experience any of the keyboard issues and when testing the velocity the guy in the keyboard department had even assured me that the plymoth mi location hadnt ordered a single one until the keybed issues were resolved. I dont know how much steam is being blown up my ass but hearing what i wanted to hear certainly makes me think i will be picking one up this wednesday.
edit: just got my kronos, good-bye world, hello my new anti social personality.
